I'm looking for some help in how to cope with the symptoms I am getting. I am waking up a lot in the middle of the night and my heart races. I feel that I have a tight band around my chest so I find it difficult to breath in. I can breath out fine and hold my breath, it's just very worrying my anxiety has been going on now for months every day seems to be a battle.

Hi Mcminn.
Have you tried breathing in slowly hold your breath for a count of 4 and then breathe out slowly as if you are blowing a candle out and focus on something you enjoy doing.I know its hard but give it a try.Have you been to see your doctor yet,you sound like a little help is needed.I hope this helps you.

Yeh I am seeing a social worker every day no so hopefully it will help. I'll try the breathing thank you
I was told about the 7/11...u breath in for 7 and out for 11 once u get use to it it really will help and u find it calms and slows your heart rate down almost straight away!!! Hope this helps x
