Scared to do finger prick test.

Iv`e sent away for a self blood group test on the internet. I want to know what my blood group is because my doctor`s surgery says that it`s not on my records. Iv`e just realised that I`ll have to prick my own finger to use the test, & I`m very nervous of doing this. It`s very strange because it`s not so bad if someone else is taking my blood. I`m wondering tha bext way to get round this. I don`t know anyone else who`d be willing to do it for me.

Hi Fairy.

Do you have a neighbour that could do it for you, its just a pin prick if not close your eyes and do it.I know its not easy to make yourself bleed.I thought you could get your blood group from your doctor when you have a blood test.

If it's like the thing I've used you just hold it against your finger and press the 'trigger' and a little needle pops out and back in again. You hardly feel a thing.

So quick you don't have time to think about it.

HI Hairy x Oh how strange your doctors don't know your blood group x I think its the one thing on my medical records I know the most lol x The test is easy, I do it every day my son is diabetic so he gets blood checks all day and i don mine to prove a point that when anxiety strikes my sugars drop x Its a small tiny needle a bit like pricking yourself if you are sewing, then you squeeze it out x If you cannot manage go to your docs and im sure the nurse will take 5 to do it x Donver
