Escitalopram Created a horrible day...

I took my first 5 mg dose of Escitalopram (lexapro) today. It was horrible. I got extremely dizzy, sick At my stomach, my heart started racing, and I felt like i was going to die. I went to the er and they told me it was an allergic reaction. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Sorry to hear the meds made you ill am glad you went to er.

I have never taken that meds, but wanted to reply to your post.

I hope you are feeling better now it must have been a frightening experience.

Did they tell you to stop taking them and go and see your doctor again.I hope you get it sorted out quickly.
