I'm experiencing motion sickness without moving, headaches, constant stress, butterflies and difficulty focusing.

I have always been a perfectionist and a stress head to say the least, but considering I've had only around 5 panic attacks in my lifetime I'm just wondering if maybe that's not actually anxiety? I've been noticing the above symptoms for a while now and my parents don't believe me when I tried to tell them. Someone help please!

Hi Eloise, My anxiety produces similar kinds of symptoms. My balance is impaired and for a spell I had, what you describe as, motion sickness. I have shoulder, neck, face and scalp tension. I don't get palpitations, like others do, but I definitely have anxiety. A perfectionist gives themselves a hard time. Achievement has always been important to me and a fear of getting things wrong or making mistakes. I first had a panic attack at age 18 - I'm 61 now, but I had many years without anxiety, it surfaced at times of stressful events in my life. My theory is, that it's always potentially there, but if we change our attitudes to life and how we manage stress it need never bother us. Maybe your parent could read something about anxiety and symptoms. Best wishes to you.

Hi,I've only had 5 attacks but it's the symptoms I get which sounds like u have,I think the symptoms r worse than the actual attacks, the more u think about it the worse it gets but uve to remember to urself there's nothing wrong with u it's just anxiety and it can't harm u xx

Hi Eloise.. Anxiety can certainly can cause an array of weird and wonderful symptoms which are thoroughly unpleasant and often frightening. We can all get conditioned to a particular stressor which every time it rears it's head is like beacon to the brain, which begins it's chain of chemical releases into our systems and causes those symptoms. Have you had a really good look into what stresses are foremost in your life at the moment? Maybe you can narrow down what is actually causing you to feel particularly anxious and address it? Many of us feel we are "not believed" by others when we talk to them but in reality other folk who have not experienced similar symptoms simply have no point of reference to make a valid comment from. YOU are aware that things are not quite right and there are usually sound reasons when our bodies rebel! Check out some of the good sites to learn about the symptoms of anxiety and if you need some good book recommendations just ask here and we will give you some good titles..meanwhile just have a look at your life and lifestyle and se if you can narrow down a particular problem and re-look at your response to it. Also, if the symptoms are there ALL of the time maybe a GP visit might be in order in case you have an ear infection? But, usually with anxiety the symptoms come and go at various times during the day and night....an infection would be a problem ALL the time. Good luck with it all, Eloise and post again if you want to chat...we are all here at various times and all understand your concerns. love PD7979xxx

Thanks so much I appreciate it! I don't think it's an infection because it started after I had a bit of an attack at my dance school and it hasn't stopped. I think my parents are going to take me to the doctor :)

Hi There Eloise.. Hope all goes well when you see the doctor. Write down the points you mentioned in your post when you see him/her so you can make sure you discuss all the symptoms which are a problem...can be a bit stressful in itself, visiting the GP can't it. Good luck with it my friend...PD7979xx

Hi eloise,

I have also experienced these symptoms from time to time. Just like you said I'm not sure if it's anxiety or the fact that I used to suffer with sleeping properly at night and as a result I'd be a bit of a nervous wreck by the morning.

I am now a mother of 2 young children & with my youngest just turned 4 months old I find myself having a bit of solice due to the fact that she's keeping me on my feet & still requires night feeds.

Do you have a good G.P who can listen to your thoughts & concerns ?

xx

Ask your doctor. It could be vertigo.

Hi Eloise. I am having horrible everyday motion sickness which all the doctors say is anxiety. I get awful headaches for days on end then motion sickness for days. I've been like this for like 6 months now. Can you tell me what happened in your situation?
