Anyone experience throat discomfort.

Hi everyone for the last 4 to 6 weeks I've been experiencing like a lump like presence in my throat it feels like its to the side of my adams apple LH side It seems to come & go just wondering if it could be due to anxiety & has anyone else experienced anything similar. Another one of my problems the list just seems to get longer as the week's go by im in me late 30s anyone would think i was 70 odd.

Dont be hard on yourself. There are so many little niggles that we all experience & what your are describing is probably one of the first symptoms I had 10 years before I was diagnosed with Limited Systemic Sclerosis. Esophageal issues are common & you should tell your Rhuematologist about it. It needs to be explored and taken in context with your other symptoms. Mine was dismissed as an anxiety attack. Have you got a diagnosis?

No I'm still waiting should get diagnosed when my results are back from my heart monitor last week. Thanks for replying.

Yes I get something very similar, usually when I'm trying to get to sleep. I went to the doctor but he couldn't find anything physical.

(18) A sensation of a lump in the throat, or difficulty with swallowing.

or depending on how you think of it!

Ok thankyou very much for the info it's reassuring to know. I realy can't believe my physical symptoms it's hard to understand how anxiety can cause such cruel discomforts. Take care & thanks again.

it will be globus,I had it,it does go away in its own time,Doc sent me to hospital for camera down my throat,nothing there

I hope so it's realy stressing me out I'm at work at the moment & all I can think about is I've got throat cancer I can't concentrate on work. It seems to be left side of my Adams apple. Thanks for the reassurance.

A very very common anxiety symptom most sufferers have had, and I for one have had it many times.

It even has a medical name which I can't remember.

Ok that's a relief it makes me think that I've got throat cancer it's realy awful. I can't believe the physical symptoms i experience through anxiety thanks for replying i realy appreciate it.

This could be due to Reflux. I have the same problem and was referred to an Ent specialist.I had a barium swallow test and that was the result. I was given Lansoprazole and Gaviscon advance to take. I also suffer with anxiety and every little thing that's crops up makes me imagine the worst. I have been like this since I was about 17. I am now 61 and am still the same but I am still here. My grandmother was the same . I think she lived till she was about 84 we need to learn to chill out but it is easier said than done.

Do you get pain in you sternum and difficulty to swallow?

No I don't & if anything when I eat & drink it seens to relieve the symotoms. I'm still undiagnosed & I'm due another scan to compare the old scan to a new one I can definitely feel something left side in my neck & I get discomfort from my adams apple up to my temple. My last check by the doctor she admitted that she could feel a fullness in my neck that's why im going for another scan. I don't think this is due to anxiety anymore I think ive been fobbed of & it's been blamed on anxiety. Wish me luck getting to the bottom of this cruel throbbing horrible symptom.
