Hi guys.
I haven't been around much, been busy. Uni has started up again.
Exciting, but stressful at the same time. Its my final year, so I have to do my dissertation and stressing about results to get a good degree classification. Ahhhh!
I don't really have too much to report on for me really...
I saw my doctor for what was meant to be my 3 week check up on Sertraline. As some of you may remember, I had a bad reaction after half a tablet so I didn't take any more. I talked to my doctor about it and she said that it sounds like what she would call a severe reaction, and that I probably have a hyper sensitivity to serotonin.
As I can't have beta blockers (asthma) she gave me some diazepam to be used in emergencies.
Not taken one yet, and I will literally only use them if I hit rock bottom with anxiety.
So no regular meds for me.
I think I also discovered that i'm lactose intolerant. I've had bowel issues since my early teens, but always thought it was IBS. This is one of the biggest things that caused my anxiety, worrying about being caught short etc.
But I decided to try an elimination diet. I planned to cut dairy out first, and see what an impact it has. Then I was going to try gluten and wheat if dairy wasn't the cause. Well what do you know, I felt sooo much better cutting dairy out. So i've been using lactose free alternatives. Though I have had some occasional slip ups (ate mac and cheese ready meal, doh!) that has caused stomach cramps, which just further proves my intolerance to me.
It has really helped my anxiety, my fears relating to bowel problems are slowly starting to go away and I feel much happier.
Apart from that things have been pretty normal for me.
How have you guys been?
xx
