Problems with sleeping or staying asleep can't seem to unwind or stop my thoughts

I Have no sleep prob , but have restlessness and who body tension and so much pain.

Hi Millbrook, I've got the same problem. My body is absolutely crying out for sleep, it's so tired, yet when I go to bed, my mind revolves. My GP puts it down to my anxiety associated with my wakening from sleep.

I have copd and have a terrible time in the morning trying to get my lungs to 'open'. I was prescribed Citolopram, but suffered the most horrendous hallucinations that I refuse to take any more. I've tried all the relaxation methods, but I cannot still my mind. I'm hoping someone on here has the answer to this :)

I struggle relaxing as well it's as if your brain is on overtime I should ask your doc to review your meds there must be others you can try

I have tried the Bach 'Sleep' rescue remedy and it has helped me.It is suppose to relieve your mind of unwanted thoughts. Try the rescue remedy but the 'sleep' one. Sometimes I take a panadol too. Good luck.

Thanks ill try it . At the moment I take 2 nytol but it makes you feel groggy in the morning

I have a relaxation cd that I listen to before bed, one track asks me to be comfortable and do a few tension releasing exercises and most of the time this relaxes me and rids me of thoughts enough to fall asleep, I let the second track run as well while im falling asleep, most of the time it allows me to get at least 6hrs sleep and the odd night 8, but once every now and then I get as little as 4. I would also say drink commomile an hour or so before bed, I mix it with fennel teas for stomach also.
