Last time I had a filling done, took an hour, the stress brought on a Fibro flare that lasted two days. Have to go back today and feeling very anxious.

I hope everything goes ok.

Close your eyes and do some deep breathing

Best of luck

Car wouldn’t start, had to walk at least 15 blocks and was late and stressed, Fibro kicking in, got the filling, now in recovery mode. # exhausted.

Hi -I’m so sorry this happened to you. Not a real fun day there -how are you managing today?

Today I hurt. Tylenol and an Epsom salts bath are coming up.

Hopefully things will be smooth for you today! I would ask your dentist and/or doctor if the next time you have a procedure you could get a single dose of an antianxiety med, such as lorazepam or alprazolam, to help you through the procedure itself. You could also try bringing headphones and some music you enjoy to distract and relax you. Let your dentist know that you struggle and they may have additional suggestions as well. Good luck!

I’m going to ask my Dr for some and the dentist has a tv in the room so that distracts me too.

Hi ratoncita...I could relate to your stress level yesterday regarding the dentist

appointment. Give yourself credit dear in that you kept that appt even though the

car wouldn't start. I don't think I would have been determined enough to do that.

I too have Fibro and so understand that between fear of dentist plus having Fibro

I always knew there would be a kick back the next day.

When fearful, we tense our shoulders and don't bring them down until we are at

home. By then the muscles have been beyond tense and tight. Epsom salt bath

sounds soothing. Call it a "me day". All in all, you did good. I'm proud of you :) xx

Thanks for your kind words and support and indeed, it’s a “me” day for sure. I found out it was 4.3 km I walked! I haven’t walked that far in months! Or maybe years!

Went to the hot tub at the rec center today and had a good long soak. Very helpful.

you are so nice to share that. I understand medical and dental journeys. I am on one. I am grateful for this site to have people to talk to and I feel less lonely. I really relate to that.
