I once heard something which I have found a great help so I thought I would share it with you.
It was said by the mother of a child with a health condition which meant that he was deteriorating everyday. He would gradually loose all the skills he had acquired and would eventually die.
She said that if a day held just one moment in it which was beautiful, then that was happiness for her and was seen as a good day. It could be something as simple as her child taking a few minutes of joy from a game they played or that she looked out on a beautiful sunset at the end of a difficult day.
I was so moved by her bravery and struck by the useful lesson this provided.
When, during the early days of starting medication due to GAD I had times I was not sure I could go on living, I remembered this mother's message.
