Health anxiety
Hi Shazza141, I too deal with health anxiety daily. It can range from scattered random thoughts about the possibility of a health issue to all consuming Panic Attack inducing fear. My anxiety focuses on Anaphylaxis, Covid-19, & Heart Attacks mainly. Health Anxiety is not fun but it does help to talk to others about it. I hope you find your calm & your mind allows whatever storm is brewing to pass quickly.
Hi this me it started with a panic attack then I was having a anxiety. Then all of sudden New Year’s Eve I had a big panic attack and thought was my heart so since then this is my worry. I had a ecg full blood cheek and all fine but you can’t the worrying. I have had cbt that help a lot so o have contacted them again just for for some more help. I think I look for heart problems because my had heart problems but I have never been like this before so upsetting.
My Dad has recently had a lot of health & heart issues that have had him in and out of the hospital. Coping with a loved ones health issues while remaining informed & present can unfortunately be very triggering. It’s a delicate balance I have difficulty with. Treatment can be very beneficial. Just remember things may be rough now but with time & effort they can get better.
And more you think what is this sensation which you probably had before then you think about it more and more and more
Hi I have this! I get headaches and more recently headaches with nausea. I start to wonder do I have cancer. Do I have a brain tumor? Then stories come up on the news about folks who had headaches and found brain tumors. I go to Dr. Google and start googling my symptoms and more awful diagnosis comes up. So,,,,, what to do? I made appt with my primary care doctor got some bloodwork. Alll normal. I am starting therapy now and am trying my best to find some stress reduction. I don’t know how to relieve my stress. .. also am going to try yoga and a dance class. Hoping this helps. I’m right there with you. Taking deep breaths, saying this too shall pass, talking to supportive loved ones, walking outside help me a bit. You aren’t alone.
Thank you I will trying I have some more CBT soon just waiting to hear when I can get appointments. Also mine also effects me I get scared to take tablets too too I try carry on
I can so relate to these posts. When I get symptoms my negative thoughts take over--mainly because I have had cancer and kidney stones. When I was diagnosed with cancer years ago my anxiety was so bad I couldn't sleep and was a total wreck. A psychologist I went to for help at the cancer hospital took me through a guided meditation and it was amazing how it calmed me down. I currently have some other health symptoms and so my anxiety has flared back up. It's -13C here otherwise I'd go out for a walk to try to clar my head of negative thinking.
