Today is my birthday, and I have no plans. All friends and family are busy with school and work, and my ex will be out of the apartment all day working as well. I have an appointment with my therapist in about 15 minutes and then nothing for the rest of the day.
My ex did wake up this morning and wish me a happy birthday, even gave me a hug! I'm trying not to look to far into it, to tell myself he was simply giving a friend a hug on their birthday, but it's really hard. That's the first physical affection he's given me since the incident a week and a half ago, and I can't help but think that it's a sign things are looking up for us. That he does still want to be close with me, and things aren't over. Being a female who has an analytical personality and anxiety is really a horrible combination.
My positive for today is I think my medication is starting to help me. I'm not feeling super sad or anxious this morning, and his affection is definitely something that would've sent me over the edge prior to starting this. I'm still overthinking it, but it's not making me feel anxious or sad, I'm just existing with my thoughts right now.

The best gift you can give is to enjoy aloneness and self care. Is there something you enjoy? Can be reading a new book or walking in the park. Making a mandala. Ice cream. Spa treatment. Just some examples.
I'm planning on meditating today, and I'm hoping I can muster up the energy to do my nails this afternoon. I haven't done them in a couple weeks and they're looking pretty ragged.
It's a little bit of motivation and a lot of fatigue keeping me from doing it. I just got out of my therapy appointment and I'm whipped, my doctor increased my Fluoxetine on Monday and I think I'm finally seeing some of the side affects showing up. Absolutely exhausted.
Ah, well there is nothing wrong with belated treat. Rest today. That is still self care. Then maybe make an appointment for nails instead of doing it yourself. For a pedicure you don't even need to talk to anyone. Just enjoy the massage chair.
Happy birthday Penny! To be honest, some of my best birthdays were quiet ones (there's less chance of someone being around to p*ss you off haha), just chilling, watching and eating whatever you want, completely guilt free. I understand it can be difficult, but think of today as one that your not obligated to think about anything that you don't want to, you deserve it for making your way through life. I hope you can allow yourself that, we're all rooting for you
Happy birthday to you. Just wanted to tell you that your ex might be feeling a bit sad to not to celebrate with you normally as well. I'm sure he's willing to bet anything to spend time with you on your birthday. Say that from you ex perspective as I'm in that position.

Thank you! I did actually end up getting dinner with my ex, which was kinda weird but not. But hey, at least I did something! Funds are super tight right now as I'm in between jobs, so I wasn't able to do much of anything. But I made it through the day, and I'm one day closer to having my life back together!
