Hi, everyone....I posted here several weeks ago about how awful my anxiety and depression were, and you were most supportive!

The good news is since that time I've been put on a low dose of an anti-depressant that has made a big difference. I am calmer, have almost no depression, and the anxiety symptoms have nearly disappeared. Life is so much better now!

That being said, during the day I get little "stomach hot flashes" similar to what I dealt with before, but not terribly disturbing. These are more likely to appear when I'm alone at home just puttering around, reading, watching t.v., etc. They rarely occur when I'm deeply engaged in something, when I'm at my AA meetings, when I'm on the phone with a friend, or just out with friends for lunch or dinner.

Fortunately I'm aware that they are not medically significant, just sensations. But what is this all about? A hangover from former anxiety? My body reminding me that I have GAD? I hope you'll share your input, whether or not you've had this experience yourself. Many thanks as always....

Hi! I'm so happy you feel better. I have a daughter that's been going through anxiety and depression for the longest time but because she claims anti-depressants make her worst she doesn't want to take any. Can you please tell me which ones are you taking and how many mg you take a day? Maybe knowing someones life has change she might want to try them. I'm truly very happy for feeling better. :)

I was put on the generic form of Pristiq, which is very similar to Effexor. They are both forms of Desvenlafaxine. Just 50 mgs once a day, along with 20 mgs 3 times daily of good old Buspirone, which is an anti-anxiety drug. Not sure if I'll be taking Buspirone much longer, since it stopped working for me after a month the first time I took it! I think I am being weaned off it, since the former dose was higher. If your daughter is willing to try something new, she should consult her doctor, since we all are different! Many people are greatly helped by Celexa, but for me the side effects were so severe I only lasted a week, and remained miserable from whatever was left of it for several weeks afterwards! It made me swear off antidepressants for years.

I wish you both all the best....!

Thank you so much for your reply. Seems that anything she takes just doesn't agree with her. Hopefully she can get off the Lunesta (sleeping pill) because that's also making her feel over medicated.

I truly thank you and wish you continue being happy. God bless you!

😊

If you are talking about a sensation like butterflies in your stomach, they are common with anxiety. For years Paxel has caused me night sweats and disturbed sleep and no doctor can help me.

Actually, they're more like the "quick hot poker stab"! Not really painful, fortunately. I haven't seemed to have felt them so much over the last couple of days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for your reply!
