UTI Issue?

Hi,

For about three weeks I have suffered from discomfort in my lower abdomen, the only way I can describe is that it’s a stinging like feeling. Sometimes this goes away and the tip of my penis feels uncomfortable instead. I also get lower back discomfort. I have times during the day when I have to urinate more often than normal and also at night which does feel more painful than it should. I also get a re accruing itchy redness on the top of my penis occasionally, which has been STI tested and comeback negative. I have also given urine samples to my doctor which contained no infection. I tried to drink more often and tried cranberry juice to no avail.

I do suffer from some anxiety and stress issues although I don’t feel physically stressed.

I have suffered these issues before but they usually go after a week but not this time.

This is ruining my quality of life at the moment and I wondered if anyone has had similar issues and can offer any advice.

I should also mention I have a cyst on my kidney which was diagnosed a couple of years ago.

I am a female, but my advice would be to see a Urologist who could give youra professional diagnosis. Good Luck :) xx

Have you been seen by a urologist to rule out interstitial cystitis? Drinking cranberry won't help. It's full of sugary natural and added. For it to make any difference you would have to drink about 8 litres a day. A better solution is to take a cranberry capsule if you can. Check with your Drs first. My urology team insist on me taking a supplement to acidify the urine to prevent UTI.

Try reducing caffine and alcohol to see if that makes a difference.

I can't give you medical advice but I can share the knowledge that was given to me by my team and my own experience.

Do see a doctor and discuss your concerns.

Did they test for yeast? That's how my son describes his as a burning like sparklers in lower abdomen and a ache low in his back. Same with his penis itchy but on the inside of the head. But it could be a UTI. Yeast travels up the urinary track giving it the feeling of overgrowth. Ask the doctor but in the meantime try yogurt or Kiefer. Hope this helps. Gentle hugs 🫂🫂
