My son is not feeling well

My 12 year old son isn't feeling well. He has a cough and congestion. No fever or loss of taste/smell. I am trying my best to take care if him. Slathered him in vicks. Gave him some vitamin C and making sure he stays hydrated and rests today. My husband had a head cold last week.

I feel rather guilty because my health anxiety is in high gear due to this. I am concerned I am going to get sick. I should be focused on him.

In a way your focus is on him. For you to be able to take the best care of your son you need to be healthy yourself. That’s good parenting….

Having health anxiety and being around family members or anyone slightly ill sends your health anxiety through the roof with fear? It’s not a nice anxiety to have it’s horrible and when you need to be caring towards them your needing to get out the way and if we start to feel ill we hit rock bottom it’s a vicious cycle hope your son gets better soon though xx

Thank you! I am now sick too but I have been doing all I can to stay calm and control my anxiety. I will recover soon. He seems to be doing a lot better today, still waiting for his COVID test results. We wanted to be cautious.
