apolgies for the typos with my phone- big fingers and dimming eyes.....having to clean for most women )not all ) is ugugugug often per see and because its expected to many (in my house of 7 we all did the chores and tack and horses and barns- dishes etc - trained right - all men should be self reliant and not impose on women) ,,,,,much easier for us guys to be domestic so that whoever comes home to a clean house even as a service..........beats admin and other jobs and a treat to the home owner.....the minions love surprises . .. ,,...who cleaned the house?? the little scamps,, ,......for most women its god here we go again. sure wound mind domwone for once giving me a hand or

but most of times no one believes us..........who likes to be taken for granted or treated as a slave,....i was a groom once and the last rider I groomed for used to say oh boy fetch my ,,

ooh wake up call ......or u go in barns as a guy and whether u a top rider or vet - they always say- the broom is over there,,,,,,,,so we know how women are treated big time...oh boy fetch my ,,,,,,,

much more fun to surprise a neibhror or friend .,,,,,,,so when they come home dead tired they can just collapse and not have to work further,,,,,,few people beeive us,,,,,,,,that is the hard part,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

in reply to Brig57

Oh do I ever relate. I keep a pretty tidy home. I don't like clutter and dust. I once had a woman comment about how it is to see a man take such good care of a home.. She really put her biggoted foot in her mouth by asking if I was Gay..due to the aforementioned tidy appearance of my space. I told her no and escorted her out with a lecture on assumptions and bigotry.. I was called " Boy " once, just once..The offender had to pick himself up from the floor from my right cross as my response to that tag.

Hi there. Mine is coming up too on August 22nd. So happy birthday to you!!! By the way, I'm just curious, in astrology are you considered Cancer or are you a Leo like I am???? Actually, I mean if you really believe all this astrology stuff, since I was born on the cusp, the last day of Leo, I supposedly have both Leo and Virgo qualities. No wonder no one can figure me out!!!🙂. Hope you have a great birthday!!!

Hi I'm considered definitely a Cancer. It'll be coming up soon. I'll post it. I'm so into Astrology and currently learning Tarot. Ahh you have both being on the cusp. 🎈

I’m with you, girl. Cleaning is not my motivator at this stage of the game. Although it rids me of the guilt I feel for letting things pile up, it’s pure drudgery. Worse than brushing your teeth or making your bed. 😱 We deserve a maid, right Luna?❤️🏄‍♀️

I struggle to motivate myself to work out and eat healthier foods. My blood work came back with high cholesterol so it’s motivated me to at least reach for more fruits and veggies instead of chips or candy. And I use a progressive step counter that increases my goal slightly when I hit it for 3 days in a row. If I miss a day it comes back down a bit. Very helpful.

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

I'm sorry to hear that. I guess I got a taste of that last year as my RA got so bad. It was a struggle to walk from my front door to the car. My body had forgotten how to walk and how to function. I had to put one foot in front of the other then walk. It didn't feel normal to walk like how I use to. My physiotherapist taught me how to walk again. 5 minutes then adding a minute each day till I got to my target. And a whole load of other exercises as well. It wasn't until I started my medication that I started to feel normal again. I really feel for elderly people now as I know how it must feel for them when they get older and their body doesn't function properly. Its so frustrating and I felt so angry at my body for letting me down 😔 I feel for you hypercat54. Please take care of yourself.❤ 😘

hypercat54 profile image
hypercat54 in reply to Zara0123

Thank you Zara. I started going to NHS physio 3 years ago. They don't actually do any physio and just ask you a series of questions and ask you to bend etc. They then diagnose you with either manual or nerve damage. I was told it was manual and given exercises to do. They do help a bit but the physio did say airily last time I went in 2019 for obvious reasons that it is possible it is osteoarthritis! Huh? Is it or not. Not been able to get back or see a doctor since.

The exercises do help as they are supposed to build up your abdominal muscles and your back ones to support it. All the doctor will say (in 2018) losing discs is common after 40! I have asked for painkillers that might work several times by email and they just ignore me.

I now walk bent over with a stick in a lot of pain. :( The doctors say take paracetamol which doesn't even begin to touch it and even a high dose of co codamol doesn't. They refuse to consider any other type of painkiller.

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

Well you can't ignore pain like that and need pain relief. Losing disc might be common but living in pain isn't.

hypercat54 profile image
hypercat54 in reply to Zara0123

Sorry called you Sara by mistake. Amended it now. Apparently it is ok......

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

No problem just a letters difference. Some Drs need to go through the pain we go through everyday. Maybe then they will look at us as human beings rather then just another patient they're dealing with. I'm so blessed that my Rheumatologist and Gp are really helpful. Maybe because I was avoiding the meds for so long they have offered me everything I need. But I have heard stories where patients are not taken seriously and are fobbed off which is really sad 😔

hypercat54 profile image
hypercat54 in reply to Zara0123

Well I think the pain RA sufferers go through is well known to the medical profession and I am sorry you have it. I know a couple of people with it and the pain they can go through is awful.

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

It is really awful. I've avoided medication all my life but this was a time where I had to give in. And I'm glad I did as its not even called living, being in that much pain. I pretend that part of my life didn't happen 😥 Because I wonder how I even lived through it. We are really blessed we have access to medication and Drs as many out there do not have basics. Can't imagine the suffering people go through 😕

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

hypercat54 profile image
hypercat54 in reply to Zara0123

Oh yes definitely. Are you claiming PIP?

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

No I don't think I'm eligible. I know people who have been worse then me and have been refused.

hypercat54 profile image
hypercat54 in reply to Zara0123

It's not what illness you have but how it affects you. If you are under state pension age I would apply for it. After state pension age a new claim wouldn't get the mobility side of PIP but you would keep it if you got it before.

Do get help filling the form in though as it's worded deliberately tricky so they can justify turning down so many people. Just because others didn't get it doesn't mean you wouldn't.

One of the things many people don't know is if the question is for example Can you walk? and you put yes - nil points. But if you say yes but it takes me 4 times as long as someone without it, I get a lot of pain, and it takes me x amount of time to recover you get points. This is the because one of the criteria says you have to be able to do something in a timely and safe manner. And you always describe your worst day - never your best. x

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to hypercat54

I probably would have been accepted last year as I was really ill and could not do the basics but i think I can manage most basic things now with slight pain and a bit of struggle. I'm just glad I'm getting better. Thanks for the advice. Its much appreciated. Was lovely chatting to you. Good night 😴 🥰

That irks me bad.

Yes. All pain is horrible isn't it.

Yes indeed I'm constantly falling over. I landed in surgery last year because of it. So many things throw your body off balance.

Zara0123 profile image
Zara0123 in reply to Luna_Child

True, just be really careful as a fall leads to surgery which leads to more difficulties, coming off meds, dealing with the pain of the surgery, then recovery. I've really slowed down since last year but trying to get my speed up slowly slowly ❤

Luna_Child profile image
Luna_Child in reply to Zara0123

I had no choice. I had carpal tunnel surgery on each hand 2 months apart. Doing really well I tripped on the cement steps landing on both wrists! I had Tenosynovitis severely in my left hand 2 doctors refused and one did not refuse, my hand saver, had to go in and clean inflammation out all throughout my hands and fingers and tendons. My right wasn't nearly as bad and since this is my dominant hand I didn't have surgery on that one. I understand what you're saying though. 😊❤️🌞

👍😊🌞

I hate emptying all the house bins out before bin day. I've never got use to that. And cleaning my kitchen tiles as I had carpets everywhere in my last house so I've never got use to that too. Was ok before but after falling ill it's really difficult to do the kitchen tiles. Normal cleaning, hoovering dusting wiping I use to love doing but now its much harder to do.

I hear you. Me too I hate doing all those things but the big but they have to be done right? My least favorite self care activity 😛

Well I can do all those with lots of breaks but I had to admit defeat the other day and borrowed my friends cleaner to vacuum and mop the kitchen floor.

Oh that's allowed. As long as the job gets done with the least strain and pain 🥰

Ha ha the pain is paying for it!

Where do I start? There are far too many to answer this.

For sure hypercat54 I understand as I think most of us do. 👍👌🌞A pretty common feeling amongst us all.

Ironing my undies

I said My ideal date was….fish chips no undies 😀

Cor watch that chip fat as you don't want any accidents. Lovely bum by the way.....😜😁🤣 x

You Brits aren't right in the head. 😋🤪

Ah you folk from over the pond just don't get our very British sense of humour! 😁💖🤣 xx

Not true, I have watched a lot of Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Benny Hill, Absolutely Fabulous, Keeping Up Appearance, etc. I admit that I sometimes have to use closed caption because of the accents. 😋

Benny Hill? Yuck! No wonder we are bonkers here. You would be too after Brexit and Boris! 😜🤣 x

Re: Brexit, Boris, TonyI get it! We are still recovering from donald j. trump🥴

Yes well I admit both are probably equal to Trump!

Lol Marshall, you just gave the PBS tv listings for a Saturday night😄

I haven't watched PBS in forever, especially after they became real liberal.

hypercat, what do you think of the Aussie sense of humor?

Have they got one? 😁🤣

Oh yeah, they are real bawdy 😜

Lavatory humour? Bet it's sexist though............

Aussie humor can be very sexist, ageist, every kind of "ist" but some aussie tv shows are laugh out loud funny like Kath & Kim🤣

Not sure the 'Sheila's' would find most of it funny though.

True. I'm not sure the Sheilas would laugh, but I would 🤣

With Charlize

😆

Is that an unhappy face? Did you n Charl have outs?

Nooo Charl and me are like 2 peas in a pod …I was laughing at your comment about our love life

Oh okay whew...it looked like a mad face. Glad you and Charl are doing awesome! 🎇❤️🎶

😂😂😂😂

Sillysausage234 you iron your undies or don't wear undies?! No wonder the sausage is silly! Which does Ms Charlize prefer or do I have to ask? 😂😂😂😂

Not criticising but you are the 2nd American I have seen here saying know instead of no. The other one I keep seeing is threw instead of through. Are these new Americanisms or summat? 😁😁

Save our English language campaigner! x

Well I admit to a spelling error there on the "no". We have no and know & through & threw..sound the same spell different with different meanings

😁😜 Very different meanings!

And there their and they're

Oh that's the one that drives me potty but it is more understandable I guess. I always remember it as 'their' belonging to them and 'there' for a place. :D x

👍

Sometimes I type too fast to think! 🤨

Yes me too. I used to be a touch typist in another life and it's really handy in the age of computers isn't it.

Yes absolutely!

Jim Tom! You’re back!

Spending more time outside. Especially these past few days, been staying inside more, and it definitely takes a toll on how I feel that day

Yes I certainly hear you. Hazy Hot Humid Raining & 100 degrees. Awful. I need my fresh air and so do my dogs. It affects them too. Raining all weekend which is ok because my dogs are having trouble with the fireworks and they won't go off if the grounds wet. 😛🙏

Wow! I can't choose. But I think that my answer is doing laundry. It is the most difficult for me.😱😫

Oh yeah that's a good one. 🧺👚🧦🎽

Changing the sheets on my bed..Tedious P.I.A....

Luna_Child profile image
Luna_Child in reply to

Yes I agree. Tedious boring task.

The other tedious task is just getting out of bed. That's the toughest part.

I'm guessing I'm in the minority but I dont like getting my hair done every 6 wks! Color and highlights always take a long time and the entire time my hairdresser is questioning me about my so called life. Very stressful and anxiety-provoking for me since I'm a somewhat private person😬 I feel emotionally spent by the end of the appointment🥴🤕😵

I hear you!!! I dye my own hair.

I understand. I do enjoy going and chit chatting with my hairdresser. It's my girls day. She talks about her life mostly and I'm assured what's talked about in the salon stays in the salon. I go every Friday for a blowout because it's too long and colors it every 5 weeks.

I’m terrible at medication. My mind wanders off to easily. And I start thinking of things I need to do. Then I think of movies quotes and then song lyrics 😂

I also hate washing dishes and folding clothes. 😂

I don't have a problem folding clothes, but I don't like getting stuck with doing all the dishes too!!!

I like folding clothes it relaxes me and there's me & the dogs so not many dishes or laundry. It's that darn fitted sheet I refuse to fight with folding it anymore lol

I can't tell you how many times I watched videos that make folding a fitted sheet look so easy. ITS NOT! I just get it to look like a square as much as possible. 😂

Yea I hear you. My mom can do it perfectly. I won't duel with a fitted sheet! Lol

I have to keep a med pack nearby which helps immensely.

Okay, I hate to say this because I must seem so lazy, sometimes it is a challenge for me to brush my teeth at night. I believe in good dental care and I try to floss too, but there are times I will let it go at night but then I will brush my teeth first thing in the morning. I know this isn't good. 🙁

I totally hear you. I'm a teeth freak but self care is hard when you feel awful. Motivation is tough. You're not the only one with that problem because I believe if one person has the courage to admit it there are many more. I admit it is hard.

Well, sometimes I'm doing stuff in the evening like paying bills and washing clothes or writing out stuff or doing things online and before I know it, it's like midnight and I'm ready to crash. I have to take some medication at night and I make sure I do that. but sometimes I'm just being rather immature like do I HAVE to brush my teeth???? It's like I still want to be a rebellious 13 year old!!!!

Lol 🤣

Same. I hardly ever floss and I know I should. I try to brush my teeth often but some nights I'm like I'm tired and Im already in bed 😂

i agree what your saying ! i want to be that too badly too, but i am 16 years old and we grow up too fast, i think i need to give you my first book if your interested , i think you might have depression and anxiety too

i feel like the boring thing i have to do for my depression and anxiety is to drink water and eat halthey no matter if i go to the resterunt or i eat home

Luna_Child profile image

the last time i was at the resterunt i had a stawberry salad but they did not have the right oil for the food, and that was the first time i ate all of my food in my depression mood feeling and attitude and my anxiety and everything, it really helped me out and it came easier on me, cause if i eat anything at the resterunt i do not finish it and then i do not like it, cause of my depression is not gone yet and i still have it and the same with the anxiety and all of my strong feelings and other things, i hope you understand at what i am saying here, anyways i am making my first book on how to release , how to ease and what to do better with everything including depression and anxiety and heart attack , if you know what i mean, so if your interested , let me know so i get ready and i can give it to you when i am done with my book, i am interested in my book to give to people and my friends who needs it too much! and i feel like i need money for it too, cause i know how i am gonna use that money if you know what i mean, i mean, like i want to give some to my grandpa but he passed away so i might have to decide if you know what i mean,
