yeah me it worked well for a few years but the effect wore off still on them mind you.
I take it for sleep, I've never had an SSRI do anything for my anxiety 😔
A few years ago, my psychiatrist prescribed it. I was at the low levels of the antitdepressant I was currently taking and switched over to 15mg of mirtazapine. She warned me that for a couple days I might feel a little of the "seratonin syndrome", but after those first few "floating days" it was magnificent. Many times doctors ask during a med check something like, "Do you feel it is helping?" and always find that question difficult to answer because, I guess the answer is yes if I am still here, slogging through the days. BUT- with mirtazapine within 2-3 days (again, probably so fast because I was already on a different antidepressant) I told her that it was like seeing the world in color. I was even singing in the car...when there were other people were in it!
The joke landed when I couldn't stop eating everything in sight. Three weeks later, the weight gain and what could have been a very easy transition into poor eating habits made me return to the doc and look for alternatives. It was such a shame, I felt like, "oh this is what antidepressants are really supposed to do about improving life's outlook!"
This isn't a side effect for everyone, but it certainly was for me
