I have suddenly discovered I have a gluten problem. Can't eat more than 2 slices of bread a day. Sometimes not even that. Does anyone have any advise for going gluten free? The gluten free bread is so expensive. Could I make my own? Which flour is best? Rise, almond, coconut? any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

There's a wealth of information on line.Lots of diets.
If you have been diagnosed with Celiac disease (may be spelled wrong) then I would think that your health care provider would be able to refer you to a dietitian.
I think there's a big difference between a gluten intolerance and true celiac disease.
This is what I got from a quick search:
When a person with celiac ingests gluten, his or her immune system will attack its own body's tissue.
Whereas, if a person is gluten intolerant, the consumption of gluten will cause short-term bloating and belly pain. (Unlike celiac disease, gluten intolerance doesn't usually cause long-term harm to the body.)
So it's a matter of degree. If you can safely eat a little wheat bread, you just need to be careful with the total amount of gluten you consume. Do a little reading to learn what you should be doing. I get most of my books from Libby: overdrive.com/apps/libby/
If you're serious about making your own bread and have never done it, King Arthur makes a gluten-free flour blend for baking. Their website is a great source of information and recipes. Get a decent bread machine and try it out! I picked up a bread machine at a second hand store and had great luck.
