Hai all,

After a lot of stress i seem to be extremely sensitive to all kinds of benO and calmers and AD’s. Moments after intake they give me stresslike, adrenaline, mild anxiety flushes througout the body. Benzo have an opposite effect, they dont calm me down at all anymore but gives me jutters and nervous energy. I am deperate because i am needing some relieve of my anxiety real fast. The posibility that there might be not a relieve adda to the anxiety.. can anyone help?

Hi,

I can' help... But I can listen and be here. I am also very sensitive to medication.

I noticed something peculiar about Benzos and me. The day(s) after I take it are miserable. My body seems to do a rebound. I promptly need more or else! No, not cravings. But my anxiety is worse for days, and the only relief is taking another one... which makes me worse the next day... and the only relief... For me, the best answer is to take them as seldom as possible and expect the extra anxiety following.

My point is to notice what each med is doing to you. Write it down if you need to. Then you've got some control and you can make better decisions.

Hi Jerry_Adam, finding the right medication, dosage and time of day in which to take it is a trial and error process. And even with that, some people don't respond positively to meds.

Even though medication and therapy go hand in hand, they are still but a bandage to help get your through the tough times. Meanwhile, it's finding other tools to help you along which are going to be longer term and will end up being the key to your success.

There is no magic wand in making us feel better but there is a key to success that we are have within us. It's about accepting Anxiety as not harmful. It's but a thought that gets

blown out of proportion by our fears. From that, it becomes a physical symptom that adds another dimension to our already heightened fears.

Dr. Claire Weekes' had a theory years ago about Acceptance of Anxiety which now has been accepted world over. Not fighting or fearing the symptoms and just breathing through them will ironically cause the adrenaline to die down quicker or even just stop it.

It all starts with learning what may work for you. I use Meditation of all sorts from self hypnosis, mindfulness, self relaxation etc along with controlled breathing.

This is not a quick fix, one time shot. It takes practice and fortitude to practice it daily and make it a part of your life. When you achieve the goal of your mind accepting this method, you will be amazed in how fast it can work. Faster than any pill and non addictive.

So there are ways Jerry to find that sweet spot of life once again. Don't give up. :) xx

It is my own life experience Jerry. I spent years on pills and therapy and wondered why

I wasn't getting better. I'd come out of a talking session just as bad as when I went in.

What was I doing wrong? I knew I was capable. Then one day while contemplating continuing anxiety, I had an "aha" moment. OMG all these years I was expecting the medication and therapy to magically take my symptoms away. And yet, I wasn't a participant. I was just listening but not doing anything to go forward.

I realized I had the "key" to my success all the time, I just wasn't acting on it.

When I started making changes in my life then I started feeling my goal grow nearer.

The day I won over anxiety was and is amazing. You've got this my friend :) xx
