I DID IT!!! I finally built up the nerve to stand up for myself. Told my husband of 16 years, about an hour ago, that I’m moving out! 😱 I had NO IDEA exactly how liberating this would feel! It really feels like I could fly right now! AMAZING!!
To anyone else who feels trapped in a relationship that is making you miserable, you are only trapped if you continue to allow yourself to be. There is ALWAYS a way out, even if you can’t envision what it will look like.
Don’t be afraid to STAND UP for what you deserve in your life. YES YOU DO DESERVE IT!! Life is way too short for you to waste another single moment not being yourself and not doing what makes YOU happy!
I am living proof that you CAN take that first step (no matter how scary it seems), and once you do, it will feel so GREAT that you’ll wonder why you ever waited so long!
Be BRAVE and do whatever it is that makes you the happiest! We only get one life to live, STOP wasting what little precious time you have left feeling smothered by someone else’s expectations of you. Make yourself happy. Do what YOU want to do!!

You are absolutely correct, leaving is not an easy thing to do by any means whatsoever. No doubt, I will have some tough days ahead to endure.
I must say though, that it also is nowhere near as scary as I was making it out to be in my mind, and I think that’s what has held me back for so long.
You know, the “but what if’s” and the “but what about’s” that my mind kept using as excuses to resist change? Yep, those. They were just deflections. And I can see that now.
I am just so thankful that I finally realized that I actually DO have the power to choose how my story ends!! 🙏💙
I felt trapped because she was dangerous to me I told her that I wasn’t gonna be her friend anymore and started cussing me out calling me bad names I got so depressed
I know exactly how you are feeling. I left my exgf back at the beginning of September and I've never been better off. I've had my share of days I missed her but you don't live with someone for 6 years without caring for them. You will have good days and bad days but now you get to live your life and do what makes you happy. WTG!!!
So happy for you that’s exactly how I feel trapped in this relationship I’ve been like this for 13 years now going through domestic violence with him and lots of verbal abuse too I just scared to leave I have to look for a place where to live and scared I can’t do it on my own but everyday is miserable for me and on top of that I suffer from anxiety and depression and so many negative thoughts and scared feelings
That is good to hear blue organic! I sometimes think of ending the relationship I'm in due to lack of intimacy and romance. But with children involved don't think it is a good enough reason.
