Hey everyone. Obviously I know I’ll have to have to consult with a doctor, but I’m thinking about changing my meds. Right now I take Prozac and Wellbutrin. I’ve been taking both since last summer. However, in the last month or so I’ve stopped feeling the improvements to my mood, motivation, and hope for the future. I tried to wait to see if things would change, but nothing has. Does anyone have any advice for what I should do? Before prozac and Wellbutrin I was on lexapro and that only made me feel way worse.

Hi it seems to me that you may need dopamine rather than the serotonin that prozac gives you , wellburtin has some sort of LSD in it I know that because I took an overdose of pills including wellburtin aka zyban and I was tripping afterwards it lifted my depression too but it faded after a few days Dopamine rich foods are orange juice apples lentils, coffee ,also alcohol but obvs I am not recommending you drink alcohol unless you can.drink.responsibly , I think you are doing the right thing though why stay on medication like that if it isn't working of course you must come off it very gradually

Hi ya

What I mean is that the antidepressant only get you so far in life.then it up to you to scream from the roof tops to your mental health team “I want therapy”

It’s so fulfilling when your having therapy.it can be so much fun exploring your self and what you have to discover about your self.

From my knowledge is that anti depressants can take right up to 3 months to get properly in to your system.if you’ve a problem with the dosage perhaps you go to the doctor and ask for an increase in dosage ?

Unfortunately with mental health world wide you need to push to get some where as don’t forget a doctor can’t help with something that’s invisible so you need to push push push I’m afraid

Hey, Lexapro is an anti-depressant that selectively inhibits the reuptake of serotonin. Serotonin is usually called the happy hormone. And Prozac and Wellbutrin are not supposed to be taken together because they produce adverse effects when taken together. As per medical science, the first tip is to change the medicine's dose frequency and schedule. Don't go for a sudden change in medication. But if it is more than 8 weeks since you started taking this medicine then I would recommend try Trazodone and Sertraline but both to be taken on different times. :)

And for some natural cure, please go through this anxiety and depression guide mangoclinic.com/an-ultimate... which would help you a lot with your condition. Whenever you'll get time do give it a read.

I hope my advice helps!

God Bless, Xx

I was on all 3 at some point. Hated lexapro. Made me angry and unfeeling. Liked Prozac but was only on to get off Effexor. Wellbutrin worked during my early days and mild symptoms but eventually was a waste. Started mirtazapine with Effexor 2 years ago and worked great. Combo is called “California dream” or something like that. Non-med that truly helped the most was TMS. I would look into it.

Hi. I have tried many antidepressants through out my life. However, I have been taking Cymbalta for about 10 years now. It works ten times better than any other antidepressants I have taken. I have minimal side effects. The major one is dry mouth. But that's it well, there is one side effect that applies to me. Sometimes I have a hard time being super happy or super sad. I have been able to overcome that and I am able cope with life just fine I also suffer from severe Anxiety, so I take an anti-anxiety medication as a PRN. I have suffered with depression and anxiety since I was a young child. It has been a long hard life. However, if I can do, so can you. Take care. Don't ever forget you are important and you deserve to feel good!
