My wife doesn't understand my depression
I'm not sure what to say. You're not giving too much background.
You could have your wife talk to your therapist or doctor. Sometimes an outside voice helps.
Good advice by Blueruth. I took my wife to my psychiatrist. It helped her in understanding that mental health issues are as real as physical health issues.
It is extremely difficult for anyone who hasn't had Depression to understand. Seek professional help and friends who have been through it. Seek spiritual help. Maybe get your wife to do some reading up or check out some YouTube videos. You really need support now.
I am sorry you are in this situation. This has been a tough year - working from home does not help depression. We need people around us to interact with us during the week. I work from home too and without much interaction - I struggle too at times. I try to make my surroundings as pleasant as I can. I find that praise music is uplifting - so I play KLOVE radio in the background. I find songs that I like and print out the lyrics to the songs - then try to memorize them. Songs like "The Comeback" from Danny Gokey (there are many others). I also find people (Pastors/friends) who can pray over me when I am struggling (Prayer is a huge help!) At times I seek out a Counselor to listen and give me guidance on next steps. Hope that helps. God Bless and Prayers for you!
