Prozac with Effexor prescription

I recently had my prescription changed from 40 mg Prozac to 20 mg Prozac and 150 mg Effexor. I’ve always responded well to Prozac in the past but I had a stressful situation come up that made my medication not work anymore . The new prescription with the lower dose of Prozac and 150 mg of Effexor worked immediately. I was on it for three weeks and then went partying with some friends . The next day it seemed like my medication wasn’t working at all and has been that way for 10 days. I am wondering if it will kick in again because I felt great when it was working . Can anybody give me their thoughts on this ?

That's interesting you are getting inconsistent results that you do not understand. Prozac 60 Mg only worked a little for me. Other meds like Effexor sadly didn't work at all.

I'm off all meds due to emergency liver failure, which my father died from. Got to be off alcohol too Forever now. I care about my health and don't mind being off all of these things. My Doctor's all agree,understand and don't seem to want to talk about this whole subject. I don't understand why it has to be a closed mouth policy about a life and death issue like 3rd stage liver failure. My friends think they are afraid of a lawsuit against them ???

Whatever, I cannot knowingly harm my liver any further. It was really Painful and the symptoms were just Terrible !!!

Stomach bled badly. I'm doing okay now without the drugs and alcohol for 3 years...

I never felt any results from Prozac I have been on a number of antidepressants and none have worked except Celexa and U felt great until one day it just stopped working and I almost killed myself. I eventually tried TMS Therapy but that did not work either. I finally have given up as far as fighting my depression but I just take each day as it comes and am now accepting life as it comes.

Nothing seems to work for me either. Only thing there is to do is live one day at a time.

Just believe in yourself and know that you can not be stopped or put down and that you are worth something! All the best!

I took40 mg of Prozac for twenty years with great success. I developed Parkinson’s 5 years ago and when I started on the meds the Prozac quit. Working. I’ve replaced it with Luvox. You say Effexor worked immediately, those drugs take t least two weeks to make a difference. So I wonder if that buzz you got to start with was psychosomatic. But if you are worse after ten days I would say it’s time to try something different.
