I've been growing through a lot. And everyone says itll pass. Yeah it will some day but right about now. This matters now. I was sober for 10 months but I still have the patterns, procrastinating and ignoring my issues. I try working on them slowly and very slowly I've gotten better. I'm back in school at 35. I have horrible social anxiety and depression from being single while my exes left me, got remarried immediately after and have a new kid together. Its like I'm broken. I try hard to maintain an image in town that's everything is okay, but it's so hard bc I just want to scream bc I'm so angry.

Sorry you’re going through all of this by yourself during a freaking pandemic. You can scream and be angry all you want because you’ve been hurt.

Share with the people here. We’re all here to support you.

Hi Midwestmomma, are you attending any Meetings (AA), hope you don't mind me asking.

I was, but quit for awhile bc they closed. They reopened a few months ago here. But I feel like my issues are more than drinking and as doesn't acknowledge that. I've been in and out the rooms for over a decade

Hi, we really appreciate you reaching out. I hear how hard it all is right now. Do not beat yourself up. We all make choices and have situations that we wish we could change. While you have been in and out of AA, and the meetings have been tough with the pandemic, keep using the phone to talk to your sponsor and other people from the group. You need the support and encouragement. You need to give yourself credit for the ten months you have been sober. That's amazing. You may also want to see a counselor....and work through your anger. It will help you find peace and it will help you embrace being a parent. Sometimes we just need to share the depths of our heart.....and have someone listen and help us through it without worrying about being judged or corrected. It is great you are back in school, that will help restore your confidence and it is a positive, healthy thing to do. Try not to get ahead of yourself. Take it fifteen minutes at a time. Take each thing as it comes. If you are a person of faith, reach out to your local church. You will often find a lot of love and suppor there as well. This is a time in your life to allow people to love and help you. I wish you peace. You will be in my prayers.
