My oldest daughter cussed me out and I posted that today I wanted girls to come swim and she said sure as long as I don’t come get them. That hurt deep and cut right thru my heart. She sees everything wrong and I don’t know what to do

I'm sorry that happened. Please hang in there. Children act from instinct and rarely mean to cause lasting harm or hurt.

Are you mom or dad? If you're mom, girls are pretty mean to their moms and often project insecurities or uncertainties on you... It's the way of the teenager. She doesn't see you as human yet, but hang in there because one day she will. That day will be the worst day of her life and likely the day she comes to you and says mom I'm sorry and starts asking you questions and wanting to get to know WHO you are. She'll recall the mean comments and criticisms and you being mom will let them go in exchange for a better more understanding relationship with her. Try not to react when she's being a jerk. Maybe you can pull her aside later and say hey those comments you made earlier were inappropriate and hurtful, can you please try to think about your words before saying them to anyone. That's not so much a reaction, but a lesson she might learn the hard way like most of us do.
