having a hard trusting people

This guy that i liked changed his profile picture on the dating website. i called him and asked him about it. he said he wants to look at his picture more often, i asked if we are okay,. he said yes. we are going to get together this weekend he said. i just want to know from him if he is still looking or if he is happy with me and wants to be exclusive. we only saw each other twice but text all day long. he is not one to talk to on the phone. he said he only talks to his dad on phone. i wrote back and asked him to forgive me over text, he read my message but did not responsd. my over thinking and anxiety are high right now.

Hey tulip-the beginning stages of dating and getting to know someone cause me a lot of anxiety too so I understand where you’re coming from. You are both still on a dating website so that would indicate to me that neither of you are quite ready to be exclusive. In my experience, texting with someone all day isn’t the same as developing long term levels of intimacy and still leave a lot of room for exploring other options. Keep dating him if you’re interested but keep your expectations low. Have fun, be real, keep your cool though! And if it doesn’t work out, it wasn’t what you’re looking for.
