I've struggled with depression and anxiety since high school. Since my early college years I've attempted to cope by running to the fire (doubling down on work, education, fitness) to no avail. It may help temporarily in the moment, but the second I get home from work I tend to slide back into it. I'm a division 1 strength and conditioning coach and I LOVE helping my athletes in any way possible and I have a wonderful and loving wife who truly tries to understand it and help me through it when it gets bad. I am incredibly privileged and blessed with exceptional parents and a solid support system, but I just can't find a viable method to keep myself out of the dark on a regular basis.
Happy fathers day to all the fathers out there!

I meditate a lot to help with my anxiety and exercise sometimes help the depression. The bedtime meditation has helped me to stop grinding my teeth. I played a YouTube video at bedtime. I've created a Playlist that plays through the night. Hope this helps.
I have started to take vitamins. I took a blood test at my PCP and they noticed that I was lacking in something’s that I could supplement with vitamins. I, also, started to do what I call a 10 minute workout 3-4 times a day and drinking plenty of water. I realized that these small things that I changed has made a difference. I have found that meditating does help as well. Let me know if you find any useful tips. I am new to this and I’m looking to find new ways to improve my life.
Headspace app works wonders! It’s a guided meditation that’s free 😊
