So today should be an exciting day after all I have an interview today. I have been unemployed for over a year. do to my father passed away from cancer my grandmother just passed in last year I just have not been able to get back on my Good foot. So today I have an interview and my anxiety is all over the place my hands won't stop sweating. I don't know if the anxiety is me getting back out into the world? The fear of the world? Or just afraid of the unknown?

Good luck on that interview. You are brave to leave your home and agree to an interview after being away from a job after such a long time. Just remember they spotted something in your resume that made them want to see you. I am retired now but from what I understand just getting an interview is a major achievement. Whenever I have had to do something that made me anxious I would say myself, "Be scared and do it anyway, be anxious and do it anyway. "Remember to do something fantastic for yourself because you woke up, got dressed, had an interview and survived."

I get it. I really do. My go-to methods for getting centered and letting go of anxious thoughts are to (1) take deep breaths, and (2) rub my palms together over and over again to promote calming brain waves. Of course, different things work for different people. I wish you luck as you identify what helps you feel more grounded. Best wishes! :)

P.S. I heard an explanation of anxiety that helps me feel like I can conquer it. If it is a "misuse of the imagination," I feel hopeful that I can learn to use my imagination in a better way.
