What works best for me is what I call the “5 Game” (I know there’s a more therapyish name for it but I teach first grade lol so when I use this on kids I pretend it’s a game 😂)
I describe, in as much depth as possible, the following- five things I can see, four things I can touch, three things I can hear, two things I can taste, and one thing I can smell.
It really helps me and my kindergarteners ground themselves.
