I think it’s time to give up, I’ve been stupid. I think everyone seems happier if I’m not around, I seem to just bring people down. I always say and do things wrong. This isn’t just regular depressive self hate, I messed up. I made a mistake that’s cost me the only friends I have and I don’t know how to explain that I overreacted to a situation and that I’m sorry. I really need my job and the social interaction it brings but I think I’m going to have to quit my job soon and check into somewhere for a while, I don’t know what else to do.

Whatever you do don't give up checking in somewhere for a bit would be best if you feel you need it. Honestly you sound exactly like me and I know exactly how you feel. I think all of those things about myself, I'm broken, I cry a lot and it's been difficult finding a job due to the mental stress and the quite literal physical pain I constantly have. But I never like reading others that feel this way, I use to be the bright side of things, glass half full but I've lost my spark past couple years. Get the help you need, not for the way out.

I hate to hear you are struggling so much. Try apologizing to you friends. Just tell them what you told us. That you are sorry for overreacting to the situation. Hopefully they are willing to accept it and move on. Sometimes these situations can bring you closer in the future.

If you feel you need to check into somewhere, do it. Sometimes we all just need a timeout. A timeout to take care of ourselves. I am glad to feel you have that option, a sign of hope. Grab on to that hope and hold on to it as tight as you can. And if you can make some changes. Try doing something you think will make you happy. No matter how small it is. Just keep trying small little changes and then hopeful you will find your self happier overall.

Friends can be a big support during times of crisis so I understand how not having them can really hurt. If you are going to quit try to find something to occupy your mind with. Try a hobby or maybe a new book to occupy your mind. Checking into someplace could be helpful if you feel you need it. Maybe a good reset on life can you a nice new start.
