Well I had a HIDA scan for my gallbladder. Doctor called today to tell me my results were abnormal. Now I'm being referred to a GI specialist. Ugh.... How many doctors do I have to see and money do I have to spend before something will be done? I'm supposed to go on vacation in two weeks to South Padre. I'm really hoping this doesn't ruin my plans. Trying not to get anxious about the twinges of pain I'm feeling in my gut.

Sorry to hear about your abnormal test. I do hope that everything gets worked out soon b/c a vacation sounds nice.
I do not know how many Specialists you will see.
Many years ago I was taken in by Ambulance because of my Gallbladder. The operation is nothing serious, It is undertaken by Micro Surgery. Several probes on through the tummy button another by your side. They operate and remove the gallbladder through one of the small openings where they have cut out the Bladder, then they close up and you are taken back to the Ward, You will generally be in hospital for one and a half or two days. They will review the site several days/ weeks later.
The GI Surgeon will do the operation with another Gi nurse and Doctor. They will give an anesthetic etc before they wheel you in.
I was back home by late afternoon a day after the Op and yes I had to be careful although
