Hi guys I hope everyone is safe and well:) I recently lost my father two months ago to two types of cancer I’m only 22 and atm I’m living with my brother and his girlfriend who the less said about the better. I am wondering if anyone suffered from being hungry all the time during their grief. I am certainly not eating the same amount or the same things because of my anxiety in terms of covid I haven’t gone shopping at all. My brother works part time at a local supermarket but he works long hours so our shopping is sporadic he’s also not the most careful shopper and doesn’t get my favourite stuff cheaper worse versions usually. And not enough quantity. So due to o my anxiety I’m now worried constantly not only about covid but about not eating enough it drives me insane and makes me very angry and causes me not to sleep I need some advice please

Hi, Meyer,

My condolences on the passing of your Father. I know how difficult that is, as both of my parents are passed away. I am going through a very similar thing, so I understand how you feel. As I was already struggling with OCD, anxiety and depression, before the pandemic started....and was spending way too much time in bed and not eating enough. And now it is even worse, as i know i can't go anywhere, because of the virus, so I have just fallen into a worse rut than i was already in. I have been going 12 and 24 hours without eating and when i do this, I get really bad hunger pains and it also creates gas in my system, which is hard to deal with, if it gets really bad. And i have also noticed that if i am in a very heightened state of anxiety, i tend to get much hungrier than normal and the hunger cravings just never seem to shut off. I used to think this was strange, until I read that this can be a common reaction from stress and anxiety. So you sound completely normal to me. But what i find helps is to get my mind off of my worries by distracting myself with things i enjoy doing, or various things around the house. And, yes, I have noticed that grieving can cause very heightened levels of anxiety that can trigger the increased hunger signals. I hope this helps and that you feel better, very soon! 🌿🌼💚💛💚🌼🌿

hello! I haven't experienced not eating as much but I am learning to fully end my anxiety in this life. I am struggling with Covid 19 anxiety as well and other stressors in life. but I enjoy listening to music and talking with a friend or two. so I want to ask you, what do you enjoy doing that makes you feel lighter? do you have any candles that you can light? my mother passed away to cancer when I was 8 years old, im 19 now and I apologize about your loss, I feel your pain. I say find things that will help you feel lighter, and it could be ANYTHING as long as its safe. also its okay to feel this pain but always remember this is all temporary. my chat is open if you want to talk, im always seeking more friends and love
