Can't get out of bed.

I have no motivation. I can't get out of bed. Today I lied in bed all day, crying on and off, not knowing what to do. I want to die here. I think I need to go home for a while, but I don't want to leave my fiancee in the apartment alone. I just don't know what to do. I feel helpless and sad all the time. I just want it all to stop. When will it stop? I don't know what I can do right now to make things better. Would it be better for me to go home for a while, or set up a routine here in my apartment to make things a little better. I just want to feel better, but I don't know how.

So sorry to read this . Do you have any support or medication to help? Always happy to listen . I hope you soon feel better.

I think setting up a routine is a great idea! Write it down and then stick to it until it becomes habitual. Give yourself rewards when you do well like ice cream, Netflix, or something you enjoy. You can do this. But first you have to believe you can. You get to choose!

Hopefully you’re getting professional help. Depression is a terrible disease. I suffer from it myself. For me it’s not something I can handle on my own or talk myself out of. If you go home, you’ll be taking yourself with you. But that’s just my thought. I have no idea what you should do. Hence the psychiatrist and or therapist. Keep posting and let us know how you’re doing.

Oh my goodness isn't that true.

There is a saying around AA, ‘Wherever you go, there you are.’ Also known as “changing deckchairs on the Titanic.”

AA isn't my issue(s), but ya, doesn't it apply across the board.

Hi just wanted to comment on your post, what you said is so true, if you go home you'll be taking yourself with you. The truth is you can't hide or run from yourself you must figure out how to deal with it. I've been struggling since this virus with severe anxiety and now truly feel like I have depression. Thinking of started on a medication because don't feel I can handle this any longer.

Hi there, I am sorry to hear you are feeling torn between going home and staying with your fiancee. I don't have many facts either way -- plusses or minuses-- for both options to offer any specific advice (and the ultimate choice would be up to you anyway). I agree that -- a routine is very helpful for depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions. If you are feeling torn still regarding your decision-- writing down your feelings and listing the pros and cons for each option might help you determine which one you should choose. I wish you some peace with coming to a decision, once you do, act on it and things will almost certainly be easier on your mind. Good luck.

Are you taking meds to help you with depression?

Is your fiancé supportive to you? Does he understand how to help you get through? If not, do you have someone who is? I would lean towards reaching out to your support....also, keep saying to yourself “I will get through this” and “This will pass”. It helps for me not to try and fight it too much. Just be there for yourself and take extra special care of yourself. Treat yourself like you would a good friend who was going through a hard time. You are not alone. I am going through something similar also. My husband is not very supportive. He just thinks I should snap out of it. I try and hide it from him as much as I can. {{{Hugs to you}}}
