Ive been going through depersonalization for almost 5 months. It got worse during this lockdown.. i try to accept it and understand it but staying at home makes me overthink each second of the day. I have good days but then bad days with insomnia and a lot of panic. Any advices on how to deal with it? My psychiatrist told me to take sertine but im afraid of the side effects and im afraid what if it makes my dp/dr worse ?please someone help

Depersonalisation is your mind's unhelpful attempt to distance us from what it thinks is a dangerous situation because it has sensed your anxiety.

You are right to frame your mind to accept for the time being. When you no longer respond to it with that flash of fear you cease to flood your nervous system with adrenaline causing your nervous system to become over sensitised. Do it for long enough and you will recover but it must be true acceptance whereby you arrive at a stage when it doesn't bother you whether you feel it or not today. Then you have truly lost your fear and recovery beckons.

I had it in the 1970s, it didn't have a fancy name then, I used to describe it as "feeling like I'm not here". It passed as soon as I recovered from anxiety disorder. Though I occasionally feel it in brightly lit supermarkets. Lightly tinted sunglasses are helpful.
