Wheezy panic attacks and respiratory strength :/

(TLDR at bottom) I’ve had the anxiety/depression/OCD combo going on for about 7 years now, and about 3 years ago, my panic attacks changed. I was used to the all out super obvious panic attacks, but they started to become something similar to mild anaphylaxis. My throat closes up so much that I cannot talk, and my chest becomes very heavy (or maybe my diaphragm gets super weak). My breaths come out whistle-y and wheezy. I have confirmed I don’t have asthma or bronchitis (only found out it was psychological when there was no evidence of anaphylaxis or any other issue that would have the same symptoms, so psychological issues were the only conclusion left) and these bouts of breathing problems happen unprovoked or when I go through the classic anxiety/OCD overthinking.

Decided to bring this up because I am worried about respiratory weakness with the illness spreading about (I live in Chicago, and my sister works in some medical centers that have dealt with covid-19). I’ve never really been satisfied with the explanation that my allergist, psychologist, and primary came up with, because I’ve never heard of something like this before! I was wondering if any of you have heard of or dealt with something similar, and whether or not this leaves me in a weakened state that I should be more worried about.

tldr: I get wheezy, tight-throat panic attacks (seemingly unprovoked, most of the time) and I want to know if this is a common type of panic attack, as well as whether or not it leaves me in a vulnerable state in regards to respiratory functions.

Anxiety can manifest in many ways, dry throat, palpitations, diarrhea, muscle spams, weakness, difficulty breathing etc. The one thing to remember, even if sometimes we don’t want to accept it, is that is all in our heads. So if doctors and allergists have done tests and told you that nothing is wrong (particularly because when it happens, it happens out of nowhere) then you should be relief. Which means you are not in the sensitive population because you have no lung or asthma problems.
