I’ve been having severe anxiety for the past month. Started therapy last week. Was prescribed benzodiazepines but they don’t seem to be working. Atleast not yet and at this point I just want this thing to go away sigh.

I also suffer from anxiety, like you I’ve been bad for about a month, it affects my sleep, I think I need to get some therapy, how do I go about it? It’s nearly 2.30 am and I have to be up at 5am, I’m sorry to bother you but I’m just sick of it
I feel like you do need some short term relief but in the LONG term try to get rid of the attitude “I just want anxiety to go away”, it’ll never go away and that will only make it stronger and stronger.
She is right, it's not going to go away. You're going to have good days and bad days. Just find what works best for you and try to manage it the best you can. Accept it, don't reject it.
PreciousGem, Unfortunately, we cannot wish Anxiety away. There is no one pill
or magic wand that will suddenly make your symptoms disappear. However, with
using a combination of tools, it is more than possible for you to get your life back
once again.
You say that the anxiety has been severe this past month. What happened to bring
it on to this degree? It is near impossible to be living a happy, carefree life and all of
a sudden you are hit with severe anxiety. Until you address the cause of your anxiety,
it will stay with you. The fact that a Benzo med doesn't work either means it's not the
right dose or medication or you need to have more therapy under your belt in order to
start working on your issues.
Another tool that can be immensely helpful is finding something that can work on
calming both your Mind/Body Connection. Using medication, therapy and a calming
tool will allow you to take the positive step forward. Don't lose hope. Stay Positive,
Stay Strong. I'm happy to Welcome you to this great support forum. Together we will
walk with you. You no longer will feel alone. xx
