Inflammation caused by anxiety and stress

Hi, I signed up about a week ago. Over the past 5-6 years I have been dealing with anxiety, stress, and not being able to adequately express my anger. I have been told that I can keep the anxiety and stress at bay if I calm myself down before I get to that point. Problem is I don’t know I’m getting there until I’m there. Last year I developed this inflammation. The doctors ran all the tests to search for an autoimmune disorder, my mother looked into mold poisoning. The inflammation eventually went away, but I’ve had a couple flare ups since. I’d notice that the inflammation would come back when I’m physically or emotionally stressed. This past weekend, I had nothing to stress about because I was on vacation. On Saturday morning when I woke up, I couldn’t close my first. So obviously I can’t tell when I’m getting stressed until I’m already there.

Have the docs talked to you about an anti- inflammatory diet? Healthy diet, fresh air/ sunshine, enough rest and exercise should help.

I’m doing most of that. The sunshine part can be difficult as I work night and sleep during the day.

Being calm is an overall state of being. It’s hard to catch yourself before you get to that point because you aren’t taking preventative measures. Using meditation as preventative care can keep your mind stay grounded and release the mind of unnecessary thoughts. You can start really small like for example, mindfully unloading the dishwasher.. pay attention to all of utensils and dishes and as other thoughts enter the mind dismiss them gracefully. It takes practice because humans are so used to “not stopping to smell the coffee” but as you get used to it, it creates a long term sense of relief.

Thanks

I have stomach issues and inflammation like bad I get very inflamed in my body. Try eating low carb no nightshades or sugar. Try anti inflammatory diet and I now I fail at drinking enough water at times. Do you do breathing exercises you may be not breathing properly or holding your breath without realizing it. You get more dried out under stress. Or high cortisol.
