Hi everyone. This is my first time posting anything. I have bipolar. I’m on zyprexa now, the generic form of it and I’m alittle better. I’ve gained weight and I’m super tired all the time. I’m 53 and have been doctoring and in therapy and on meds since I was 19. Thinking about trying TMS since I seem to be pretty much medication resistant. Does anyone have any thoughts about the TMS. I don’t know what other route to take. I know I have to watch the mania and anxiety with it. I believe the right side of the brain is for the anxiety with TMS. Also does anyone have any luck with the Zyprexa? I’ve only been on it for about 3 weeks.

I know. I’m so tired of these side effects. I lost weight recently and just gained it back when I got on Seroquel and now on the Zyprexa

Hi! My depression and bipolar have also been treatment resistant for 26 years. I COMPLETELY understand what you are going through! I was on Zyprexa 20 years ago, and it worked AWESOME, but there is a chance of weight gain with it. My doctor has recommended Spravato nosespray for me, which is a med with ketamine--I haven't found much about that. I'm sorry I can't help you with the TMS, but I have heard it is very successful. Good luck! I'm thinking about you!

I’ve heard about ketamine. Is that Spravato nose spray a prescription from your doctor? That sounds like something I’d like to try. Thank you for that information! Let me know if it works for you. It’s so frustrating when you try so many things and nothing works! I’m thinking of you to! Good luck to you also!!

Hi! Yes, Spravato requires a prescription from your doctor, and then, according to their website, there are only very few people (in my area, at least) that will administer it. You have to be watched for 2 hours after each treatment because of side effects, including high blood pressure. Check out their website at JanssenCarePath.com/Spravato. I think it has a copy of the brochure and info on how to go about treatment. Thank you for the well wishes! If I go through with it, I'll follow up here and let you know how it worked. According to my doctor, the depression has lifted in people as early as the first week after the first treatment! :)

pbkk1990, I just read some reviews on Spravato. You should do the same so you know alittle more what to expect. I didn’t realize, and I can’t find the words to describe what I want to say so I’ll say “strong”, of a drug it is. I pray you have a positive outcome with your treatments. Please let me know how it goes 🙏
