Dry heaving and terror

First time here.

44 years old and having a difficult time with a high level of anxiety. The dry heaving today has been awful due to the fight or flight and the nerve endings being over run by the stress adrenaline.

The lack of sleep isn’t helping at all.

It’s keeping me from being with active with family and life. There is work stress and health stress, and I know that it has to get better

The problem is today I don’t believe it will happen.

Just reaching out cuz today I need the support

Thank you for your reply. I very much appreciate it.

If you were in my situation, I would ask you to give yourself grace as you go through this difficult time.

I would remind you that you have come through this before in the past. It will take time for your nerve endings to repair and while your body heals ... you do what you can in the moment.

The “what if’s” never come true. While it may take you hours to get out of bed and showered ... facing the perceived issue will help you realize that you have it in you to overcome and the brain was wrong all a long.

——————————————————————-

I have been dry heaving all day and I have never done that for the Amount and length of time it has been. I guess I can tell myself that it is a Sunday and wasn’t a work day. I am surviving another day I didn’t think I would make it through.

My loved ones who I put stress on when I go through these weeks/months long bouts are still me and they continue to love me. They are at a loss with how they can help me (and I’m not sure how they can cuz all I want them to do is take the pain away. We all know that is t going to happen).

Perhaps writing this down will help you tonight. Thank you for the questions and the reminder to shift my thinking, Brig57

Dear

U

Would do it for any of us

We would wish this on anyone

Do I have any rewards ??

Twenty gold stars for getting through the day

Think I’m going to get myself a big stuffed animal to cuddle with at night

New plants to care for

Movies and music

How would I care for a special or dear friend ??

((Take Carr from all of us here

We are family ))

So sorry to hear you suffering and I can well sympathise. Sadly this is part of anxiety and in my opinion the very worst, particularly for me as I suffer with emitophobia . I had to resort to lorazepam which helped the nausea but alas it has its downfalls, ie, getting hooked on it. My cortisol has always been a little high afternoon and evening but I suspected the morning was high and did a private blood test and found it was over the scale. I had a dreadful GP service at the time, he might have gone but he did prescribe mirtazapine, which I have had in the past, and I really don't like it but I dont take the 15mg prescribed, just cut it in half and take it at bed time and touch wood I am not getting the 3 and 4 a.m, terror wake ups with the nausea and panic. The only reason I stuck with mirtazapine is becaus there was a study done some while back on healthy volunteers for two weeks and was found that mirtazapine or remerol as its also known, is a know cortisol suppressant. I still suffer cripping anxiety and pain but this could be due to hyperparathryoidism and the mere thought of going to get another surgeon is freaking me out. A complaint about mirtazapine is weight gain but I lost 14 pounds after this started in November 2018 and have managed to gain a few pounds but I eat very little and seem to live a lot on plain biscuits, we call the rich tea, but they are not rich, and soda water. I hope you feel better, I know it is not much comfort but you are not alone, my daughter was the same and mum and grandmother, we all have very sensitive stomachs. A friend told me to buy some magnets, I did this I dont know if it made any difference but I did read of a Canadian study about nausea and magnets and will see if I can dig it out for you.

Try sucking some mints, preferably sugar free. Hope you feel better today.
