Hi

I need some answers.

Can anyone tell me is this normal.

On Mon and Tues and part of Wed I felt as though the mood had lifted and the black cloud, but on Wed afternoon I could feel things changing, and the next day I didn’t feel as good neither today I have had a few episodes like this, I think things are getting better and then I go backwards, it’s like two steps forward and two steps back.

I have been on fluoxetine 20m and two weeks ago dose was put up to 40m, just over five weeks in total.

I would love to hear from anyone else that experienced this.

Have you experienced the same thing?

I tried fluoxetina years ago during a very bad anxiety period but had to discontinue the treatment as it worsened my symptoms.

It is so normal! Anxiety and depression creep up on us. The beauty of it, is good days will happen too. As long as you work on accepting the things you have no control over and focusing on what you do have control over. Mental health is a battle worth fighting for. I cant speak of the meds, Im on something different. But my experience has been the same. Really happy and motivated 1 week and then 2 or 3 days the next week feeling low.

You are not alone. If it becomes really bad, ask your prescriber if the meds is causing the sudden changes.

If you just started meds 5 weeks ago it may just have started to kick in. Best thing is to note any symptoms, side effects and check in with professional. Meds ARE NOT one size fits all.

Oh I realise that, but I have been on fluoxetine before, it did good then so I have complete faith it will work again.

And yes I keep a journal of my progress.

My Doctor isn’t interested sadly, just gave me the capsules, put them up to 40m two weeks ago, and doesn’t want to see me or contact me, I have to contact the surgery if I need to, sadly the NHS is going down the pan, especially the GPs side of it.
