I have had issues with PTSD associated with Anxiety. If not for my wife and family I am not sure what my life would be like. The issue that bothers me is I have distance myself with stressors that I feel may trigger my anxieties. I have to take Lexapril for my anxieties and medication to allow me to sleep. Does it get easier dealing with issues like this?

PTSD and does it ever get easier to live with.

I'm on a lot of meds and I attend two therapies every week.
Some parts do get better. But, I will say, yesterday I was triggered by something and I am a little taken aback by it. Something I thought I had worked through.
So, does it ever go away? I don't think so. Can we change how we react to it, yes.
Can we learn to soften the blow of some triggers, yes.
With therapy I have become much stronger.
I hope the same for you.
As one who has suffered with PTSD there could be able using their smartphones or laptops wit cams to have cyber type of group rap sessions where could see they are not alone dealing with these issues
God bless you all

Yes, PTSD can lessen in intensity with meds, counseling and the desire to revisit the initial trauma and face it head on. There may be focus groups in your area to help. If you are a Vet, you'll be surprised at the amount of Vets that are willing and able to understand and support your recovery.. PTSD from my understanding never really goes away. It can and does lessen with time, support understanding and being forgiving of yourself. Rarely if ever, do we create the precipitating trauma. It happens to us and not because of us.. It was out of our control then, we can't let it control us.
