It's Okay To Feel Bad

So, I was cruising along last night and I suddenly had a mild anxiety attack, then awhile later the Hypokalemia hit again but, only mildly. However my emotions went into overload immediately!

My super friends, Lilyannepuppy & Dolphin14 + my best friend, Krn210 sat up with me from 5:30am to 9:30am and helped me get through it.

As I began to slowly come out of it, I realized I was looking at the whole thing in error....I try so hard to not feel bad, to not give in when I do, that I probably only make it worse!

I realized that it's okay to feel bad, to let myself experience the super bad feelings and to be kind to myself while I do. I can ride out the storm, find the rainbow on the other side and be safe once more.

Lilyannepuppy pretty much said that but, I wasn't hearing it. I was too busy struggling! From now on, I won't feel ashamed when I have one of those attacks, I will start going into my recovery procedures right away, get help from my friends and then emerge safely out the other side of the storm.

If you're out there today and you're not feeling good, treat yourself nice, reach out to someone for help and do whatever you need to in order to recover. I'll meet you in the bright sunshine on the far side of the storm!

Yes, you can. I wrote 4 poems while I was feeling bad. You tried to teach me that I could go on and do things while feeling bad. Last night I learned that lesson first hand!

I hope you are feeling better now. We all have those moments of despair. They do pass in time. "without suffering there is no joy, without joy there is no suffering". We learn to appreciate the times we feel happy and life is good

That's true. I always liked my periods of calmness and levelness. I liked not having to struggle. Last night I even cried some. But, maybe I needed that. Sometimes crying releases pent up emotions and is actually cathartic. Thanks for being my friend, M! You know, I wrote 2 more poems and started a 3rd one since I talked to you yesterday. I put 5 poems out there in 2 days and will probably finish the 6th one today. You kind of rewoke the writer in me too!

I had 2 I was going to write about. On the other side of the storm- referring to those periods of sunny, calm times you have when you emerge out the other side of the storm for awhile & Find your own rainbow- about looking for the good in life where possible. I hope that helps....

So, so....Life is like that sometimes, k. It's the things you never thought would happen, that rise up and smack you. I will never probably ever be the same again now....But, it just means that a different me will rise up to replace the weaker emotionally hurt and wounded me.

I tell people that all the time....That we are unique and rare, a precious and valuable commodity.

This me is still upset and may never feel completely safe emotionally ever again. But, I will learn to deal with it. I always do...

Hope you're doing good, my friend....

I usually eat peanut butter and jelly but, I have a similar routine. I usually eat and then my night time vitamins/herbal sleeping pill and head off to sleep.

I'm actually just now getting up....irony, I guess....

Yep. 34 to 30. They are 4-0 now. The rest of my picks did terrible. You know there's 12 more weeks of picks and the playoffs. But, I've lost much of my drive to enjoy what was always my favorite guilty pleasure. I always loved NFL football. A shame really. But, this me just no longer feels quite the same.....

Agreed. Even my sweetie thinks I need some football as a despite from life and helping people here on H/U. I want to enjoy it still but feel 3 days a week is excessive in my life right now....Hope you sleep well, k. Talking to you is very settling to me. Thanks....

Krn210 sometimes just let's me talk until I get everything out if me. Whether I say what's bothering me or not, eventually I run out of words and just calm down....

kenster1
kenster1 in reply to JEG325

yeah that's the way to do it and if you had to go to bed you could always write down your thoughts.

JEG325
JEG325 in reply to kenster1

I write it in poem form. You should read, 'Little Lost Lamb'. I wrote out a lot of hurt there.

It is ok to feel our emotions, you are right! I hope you are feeling better!

Only so/so. I think a part of me disappeared last night- vanished, if you will. I'll just have to learn to live with the rest of me....
