I am leaving a job I love for the unlivable conditions made my few people. I am leaving it for my mental peace and my health as I was living with chronic depression and anxiety for over 3 months constantly because of some targeted incidents. I am suffering from sleep deprivation at nights and nightmares.

Sounds like a rough time. But, you are putting your health first.

It's definitely going to upset your emotions, trigger anxiety and the insomnia,

But remember why you did it. You did it for your health. You are very courageous.

Thank you.

Yes it is only and only for my mental health. I lived in an abusive relationship for 4.5 years before moving out and after extensive therapy. Staying here for the 5 good reasons and ignoring the 95 seemed irresponsible and not justified towards my family and therapist and doctors. So I have to move and not look back. But the hurt stayed. And I have horrid nightmares. Storms and whatnot. I just need my sleep this month as it's importance that I leave with my head held high after completing an event that's important. Let's hope I get the strength to do it.

You've already showed great strength. You can do this.

Have you tried meditation or background sounds to try and sleep?

Some people take melatonin.

I won't be helpful on sleep it's 1 am where I am and it's my second time up out of bed lol

I wish you well. Our mental health is so important and you've taken a big step to get yourself on track. Best of luck to you.

You are so brave. Sorry for all you've been through.

Could you take some time off first ? Catch up on some sleep? Before making this final decision? Think again when fully rested with a clear head?

I suppose you have considered your options - reporting them. Making a formal complaint ? As your employer has a Duty of Care. Your workplace must be a safe and healthy environment for you. If it is affecting your health in this way, then your Employer has a responsibility to do something.

Or you could make a claim for Constructive Dismissal.

Are you in a Trade Union or Staff Organisation? Do they have a Welfare Officer you could speak to? Is there an Occupational /Staff Health Department you can go too for any support.

Do talk to your own doctor sometime, get this on record.

All the best for your future happiness in either this or a new job, whatever you decide upon.

God Bless.

xXx

I had the support of my boss. He was my pillar. I took decision as objectively as I can after waiting for three months from July. I still have to endure till October till notice period. We don't come from a culture with robust grievance redressal mechanisms. However there is a senior management representative who understands the union way of understanding and I managed to semiformally inform everything. Not worth writing etc. In this scenario. It's not worth the effort of my parents, doctors and hospitals unfair to my mental health and the efforts I put in.

Hoping for better days ahead

Yes, better days to come. Seems you've done all you can. Hopefully you will be able to get some sleep now. And secure a new job for the future.

All the best.

Thank you

First Off I would like to say you have made an incredibly hard choice and your health is more precious than just a job. I don't know the level of suffering you must have endured but I know when I made my choice I felt a mountain off my shoulders. Plus I had the satisfaction of knowing that after my departure how fast things went south for those that made my life hell. That point aside, I hope you do recovery and rebound from all the stressors you endured. I know however you will still feel depression, anxiety, and/or insomnia but you will have support here should you need it including me. Feel free to chat me up any time you need to talk. I could also share my experience that seems to have parallels to yours I think.
