A question to ponder to start the weekend

Well, now that I'm back, it's time to ask the community a question:

In your life, who do consider to be your superhero?

Yes, for me, one of them is actually Superman.

Yes, it's an obvious answer, but for me, Superman stands for the one thing we all really need right now...…...Hope.

We all need some HOPE!

Your pal,

Brian :)

I've never had a superhero to stand up for me in my life. So I'm gonna say my superhero is ME!!

I have overcome sexual abuse since the age of three, physical abuse, emotional abuse, pregnancy losses, divorce, addiction, poverty, homelessness and living with in-laws and a near death experience. But I have managed to get out of those situations. I have won a lawsuit against a large company for wrongful termination without a lawyer and got a cash settlement. I have won a lawsuit against my husbands ex for a home sale. I have won custody of my stepson from an abusive mother. I have had multiple jobs to pay my own way through college. I have beat all odds so I can say I'm my own superhero.

As a supermom I have super offspring that have survived having an unemployed father and living with in laws and a son who fights for his country as a marine. They are my hope and show me what strength is all about. My other superheroes are people here that survive their own issues and help others like sunnidayz, hypercat, agora, anxiety59(might mess up name) and many others that teach me to keep going. Thank you to all the superheroes out there. My superhero name is Takes No S***!

I think that after reading your post that you are my super hero!!!

in reply to susanjo613

A... That is so sweet. You can be your own superhero too. Sometimes we are our own advocates and that's okay because we learn lessons are become stronger because of it.

Guess I'm the Super villain since I wasn't mentioned lol. Just kidding lol. But it's true. Sometimes you have to be your own hero. But, you can definitely never have enough heroes. 😀

in reply to bridder01

Of course you. All the people here, you too. I thought that was understood.

I’m serious.....I admire your strength and resilience! I tend to shut down when faced with adversity.

in reply to susanjo613

Well I did too. I'm 46 so it's taken some time to figure some things out. Just be strong and do your best and you will prevail.

Wisdom comes with age, as does experience. Read that on a fortune cookie, I think lol

I totally agree that's why I wish children would listen to their parents advice because we have lived it and know better but I didn't listen back then either. Maybe some of the young people will listen to us since we are not their parents. Wish I knew all this when I was young but you have to go through it to really be impacted.

I’m not religious, but spiritual. So for me it’s some Devine Universal Spirit. I tend to call Him/Her/It God because it’s easier than trying to define my belief. It’s the word I use when I send out the Bat Signal. Lynne

You are, but so too is my sister and my two friends who have passed over the years. All of you have endured the impossible and still managed to be kind, and gracious and caring about others above your own obstacles....that's a superhero.

(I always liked to read comics as a kid with my buddies...we were pretty small and had to safety pin towels around our necks for our super hero capes, but no way was I gonna wear my underpants over my pants.....haaa!)

Superman....rocking those underwear on the outside of his costume since 1938 lol

For me it’s my mum.. I know it’s a boring answer but now that I’m a grown woman and we talk to each other like friends.. I’ve learnt of so many battles she’s fought that we as kids didn’t even know . She didn’t let us see the battles!

And she still helps us with our battles now
