Certainly not having a lot of fun at the moment. Tapering off Prozac after several years. The violent dreams became too frequent and dangerous. Going back to Lexapro I guess. Not happy that it flatlines me, but can’t risk any more dreams. Depression is not fun.

Senior70, it that why you were put on Prozac because of the violent dreams?

What do you mean by flatline? I'm on Lexapro and dreams will break through

depending what the mind is fearful of. But yours are always violent?

Is it something that happened to you a long while ago that keeps replaying?

No need to tell me what, it can be a PTSD being surfaced if not addressed.

We're here to listen. xx

Violent dreams are a side effect of Prozac for me. Last time I fell hard and nearly hit my left eye on the nightstand. Too close to continue.

Flatline meaning no highs or lows. Just steady blah.

All the dreams were different but very violent and lots of anger played out.

Oh I see, thank you for explaining. That definitely is unacceptable to chance getting

hurt from a drug effect. I've never been on Prozac but I do know that I do not experience any blah feeling at all. I'm not tired, I'm coherent as well as feeling alive

mentally and physically. I can only hope that for you as well.

I can't imagine how frightening and wearing that has been for you in having such

active dreams. I hope you will be starting on Lexapro soon. It sounds like you do

need something for your depression. I wish you well. Stay safe my friend. I care. xx

Oh I understand the dreams side effect. I had disgusting dreams while I was taking amityrptaline.

I mean pure disgusting. The thought those dreams were in my head bothered me more than my depression. The memory of the dream played on my mind. I can still remember all the details 6 years on they were that horrid.

My gp switched me to nortryptaline which used for people who can't tolerate amityrptaline.

I wonder if there are other alternatives for you to try...ones that don't flatline you.

Sorry not sure on what my tablets called in USA, if you are in USA

Good luck finding your right prescription just wanted to say I know what you mean about the dreams
