Accident

I was just in my first car accident and am still a little shaken up.

While driving with my sister, we were at a dead stop to let a pedestrian cross the road and the person behind us wasn't paying attention. He rear ended my sister's car leaving her with a hole in her bumper (which was only half on) and a shattered headlight. The front of his car was smashed in. Everybody is physically okay so far, minus some soreness, but I am still shaky and a bit panicked.

Hello WorshipGirl2000. I’m so sorry to hear that but I’m glad everyone is ok! Keep on breathing and don’t push yourself too hard. If you need to take a break from driving, that’s completely ok.

Thank you. My sister was actually the one driving. I can't get my license due to epilepsy.

I'm so sorry WorshipGirl. Nothing is more out of our hands then being rear-ended.

I hope you exchanged Insurance info and driver's license. Of course you are shaken

up emotionally by the whole ordeal. As for the soreness, see how you feel tomorrow.

You may want to see your doctor if you develop pain in your neck from a whiplash.

It should be covered under the other driver's insurance. I learned the hard way years

ago and thought I was okay. I still suffer from disc problems in my neck. Take it easy xx

We have all of the man's info and already called his insurance. My parents said if the pain gets worse or spreads we will make an appointment for first thing in the morning. It's my anxiety that won't go down that is making me a little worried. My anxiety attacks usually only last 15- 45 minutes. We were hit around 3:45 pm. Its been over 2 hours and I am still shaking with wobbly knees.

It’s ok to feel that way! When I had my first accident I was shaky for days after but it gets better. Don’t hesitate to go to the doctors if you need to though. It will pass.

That's understandable regarding your anxiety. I could tell you to breathe,

to meditate but you are so wound up right now, it's just going to take time

to settle down. Let us know how you are doing tomorrow. xx

Hey guys. I'm still a bit sore in my neck and shoulder, but other than that I am feeling much better. Continuing to take it easy, at least for one more day, but definitely have come down regarding my anxiety. (Still a little freaked about loud noises at the moment, though)

Very common to be startled by loud noises because of our over sensitized

nervous system. I'd take it easy today as well. Try to do some deep breathing

and relaxation to get those muscles in your neck and shoulders to settle down

some. Heat might also help. Breathe xx

Thank you for all your help with this! I really appreciate it! I don't like to pester my parents too much. I feel like I annoy them sometimes.

Hi worship girl had a head on crash on a slippery hill with a waterboard van which lost control with black ice. there was no where to go as there was a wall next to us so the front of the car was written off. Thank goodness the bonnet was long as we wouldn't have stood a chance. Had bruises across stomach and arms. It was nasty but it was a warning to keep off the roads with black ice . Hope you recover soon as it must have shaken you up.

I'm sorry to hear that. Glad you guys are safe, though.

And it shook me up a little but I'm sure I'll be okay in a few days!
