Anxiety overdrive

Hello, I am new to posting here. I recently stopped taking my Celexa and it seemed to be ok until an event happened yesterday that triggered excessive anxiety that is now going on for 24 hours. I feel isolated and alone even when I am around people. My stomach and intestines are in such knots that I had to leave work and come home. I am now debating if I should go back on my medicine or not. I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

How long have you been off of the Celexa?

I have been on celexa for around 15 years. I started at 40 mg then down to 20 mg and that past 6 months before I stopped at 10 mg

I was only on it for 8 months and was switched to Wellbutrin SR 100mg twice daily, I thought I was going to lose my mind from the anxiety. I just recently switched back to the Celexa, day 6, so not fun starting over. My anxiety today too is making me want to go home or go walk until my legs stop moving.

May I ask why you stopped? It seems like it was helping you. Is the reason you stopped worth running the risk of this happening again?

I stopped because I was worried that i thought over 10 years is quite along time and worried that it may have some long term negative effects. I also wondered if there was a more natural remedy. However, I am beginning to think that I may need to go back on it.

I hear you. It's a terrible choice to have to make.

I’m sorry the meds are causing craziness. Decisions about them can be so hard. When I first started Zoloft I was bouncing off the walls literally. Then, if I forgot to take them for more than a day, I was so moody and depressed and it seemed to take a week after taking them again to get back on track. I take a very small dose of Sertraline now and I’m thankful that my body and brain are good with it.
