I can’t sleep.

I just can’t seem to sleep anymore. This morning I woke at 3:00 am and I couldn’t get back to sleep. This same pattern is occurring every night now for months. And once I wake up my anxiety spikes, my feet start to feel cold, and my heart rate goes way up. And all I do is lay there and worry about everything which makes it worse. I’m afraid that there’s something really wrong with me.

I do have anxiety and depression which I take medication for.

Does anyone else experience this? I just don’t know where to turn.

Please visit buylegalmeds.com // what it is is cannabinol sleeping syrup you mix with water or anything else. It seriously puts me to sleep within 5 minutes and I stay asleep until morning sometimes getting 10 hours sleep a night. It is a Godsend and it is the one thing I can’t live without. Currently laying in bed very late after hours trying to seek help for my anxiety in a specific situation

Sorry to hear your dealing with this I can relate I get bad insomnia often as well! Mine is from various diff. reasons but just thought to share some things that hav helped me at times- watching asmr videos online, listing to soothing beautiful music, reading a book, a magnesium drink like calms powder in glass of water, b vitamins, amino acids like l theanine, teas with passionflower, or valerian or chamomile. Hope some of these could help you-just be careful about medications and interactions ask your dr. If you’re not sure!!🌸🌼🌻

Thank you. I may look into it. I wake up early every morning with so many negative thoughts. And I start everyday feeling terrible, I wish I could change. If only I could help myself instead of always of relying on others. So many on this site, like yourself, seem so strong and determined to find the answers for yourself. I wish I had the strength to help myself. Instead of waiting for things to get better on there own.

Sorry you’re feeling this! I wake up with the negative thoughts a lot as well I feel for you!! I really don’t consider myself strong but maybe I’m stronger than I think & maybe you are to!!💞 it’s definitely not easy some days I just feel soo overwhelmed and in pain I just can’t do much of anything but pray- but it does seem to help me feel some relief and comfort! I pour my heart out -my thoughts and pains and ask for help!! it is confusing at times- you’re not alone though! It’s good you are trying by reaching out and posting here by the way so in that way you are helping yourself!!!👏🏼🌸🌻☺️

Hi Reading your post is like as though I had written it,I wake up every morning at around 3-30.Churning stomach,a trembling in my whole body and four hours later still crying, can’t take medication because of closed angle glaucoma and I feel as though I am trapped in this hell no matter what I have tried ,meditation (couldn’t concentrate) acupuncture reading endless books am now top of the list to start cbt so I really hope things will start to get better when I start this.I feel this condition has robbed me of the last ten years of my life.Hope things start to improve for you I will pray for you as I do for all my other friends on this site, who have helped me so much. Big hug for you x

I’m so sorry you are suffering so much. I feel the same way, simply trapped and unable to find happiness. Sometimes I feel as though I’m being punished, I just don’t understand why I’m like this. I’m afraid that at any moment something terrible will happen. And this fear and ongoing negativity just doesn’t allow me to relax. I wish I could be kind to myself.

Thank you for praying for me. I’m not that religious but I do pray sometimes, mainly just to express my thanks for the life I had, and all my loved ones who have passed.

I hope CBT works for you. I haven’t seen a therapist because my co pay is very high, $50.00. I couldn’t afford that every week. I only see a phychiatrist for meds. I have an appointment today.

Take care of yourself.

"I’m afraid that there’s something really wrong with me." I know the feeling. Two and a half years of sleep maintenance insomnia here. I typically wake up after 5 hours and can't get back to sleep. On bad nights it's less than 4; on a really bad night, less than 2; on a really good night, 6. Have you looked into CBT-I, a therapy for sleep problems? To get an idea of what it's about, look at a book like "End the Insomnia Struggle." Hasn't helped me much, but you might do better. Also, have you spoken to a sleep medicine specialist? They're often pulmonologists who'll focus on sleep apnea, but you can find neurologists as well. For when you wake up anxious: Look at anxieties.com, Reid Wilson's site; you may find something you can apply. Another avenue: self-compassion. It may help calm you when you wake up at 3 a.m. Fringe benefit: When you get out of bed and read about it, after a while you may find you're sleepy again.

Thanks. I’ve done a lot of reading about it, I’m just getting tired of reading all this stuff and just want a peaceful nights sleep. The thing is sleep never used to be a problem. I’ve had anxiety and depression for years but sleep was a constant I could rely on. This all started about a year ago and it was pretty sudden. And the anxiety that comes with it makes it impossible to get back to sleep.

But like you a 'good' night is 5 hours but many times I have to settle for 4 hours or less. And the Doxepin I take only makes my mornings worse, I can hardly drive into work. It’s like being in a fog all day.

So thank you so much for your advise, and relaying your experience with insomnia with me. I guess I’m not alone, but at night when I wake at 3:00 am it sure feels like I’m alone.

Do you take a serotonin medication as this may be the problem
