I’ve been taking Citalopram for a number of years, but it does nothing to relieve or prevent anxiety. What antidepressant works best for anxiety?

Hi mary if you've been on citalopram for sometime you really need to ask you doctor what's best for you! I personally take veneflaxine and amitriptalene without to many problems when you start any new medication remember that it will take at least 4 - 6 weeks before you feel the benefit! I wish you all the best and hope things get better for you 😊

Hi Mary,I take citalopram(30 mg) and amitriptyline(25mg at bedtime) to help with anxiety and neuropathy. It is somewhat effective and keeps me, for the most part on an even keel emotionally. I get really nervous without it
