People who take antidepressants! Help please

Hello so I am taking Pristiq 50mg for about 2 months and I have to say it has helped and something that has helped more is the book by Claire Weekes that was suggested to me please purchase this book it is extremely helpful to understand what is happening to us when we suffer anxiety and a lot more stuff! Well this post is to ask if people taking antidepressants have this symptom as well or if its just me. So recently I have been feeling like I don’t have much interest in being intimate or being touched at all. Sorry if this is too much information but I need to know. Thank you

Some SSRI's do have sexual side effects related to desire, performance and the ability to climax.

I’ve been on Pristiq about a month and have noticed the same thing. I can still enjoy myself, but it takes me a lot a lot longer to get there. I’ve also noticed it takes me longer/more effort to begin peeing when I sit down on the toilet. These are known, documented side effects and chances are good they will improve or go away with time as our bodies adjust. In the meantime, it is a little distressing.

My doctor advised I talk with my husband and tell him I need a little more time and attention to get to my finish, but that it should still be possible for me. That said, I’m not sure I even feel like telling him that. We’re not frequently intimate and I don’t find myself caring enough to bring it up. I’m just trying to get through each day and meet my responsibilities. Right now that’s all I have space for. Worrying about my sex life is barely on my radar.

Thank you for the information. I will speak to my fiancé about this so he is aware. I always get scared and think he might cheat on me, he never has but still my mind scares me!

At 50 mg do you have much anxiety? I’m on 75 and wake up with anxiety. Take .25 mg Xanax when it’s bad and that helps but I don’t like taking it. Does the anxiety get better?

I rarely have anxiety so it has helped because it was bad like 2 months ago. I don't suggest taking Xanax when I took it it would help for like 2 hours then I would feel horrible but well it works different on everyone. So yes it does help with anxiety

I'm on effexor which is like Prestiq and I will tell you it will dull your sexlife and make you gain weight

Well I have been watching what I eat but I have noticed I crave so many sweets and fat stuff but I go to the gym so I hope I don't gain weight!
