Tips for dealing with anxiety and stress?

It says I should write a post but I've never done something like this so I don't know where to even start. Well I guess I could start with asking for tips on how others deal with stress and anxiety. Even though I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember I have always just dealt with it by ignoring how I felt and just bottling up my feelings. Well I guess you could say I wasn't really dealing with it. Well as of lately it's been getting significantly worse and I just feel really horrible. I can't eat, sleep and it's hard to get myself up for work. I'm just tired of feeling this way. So does anyone have any good tips for just getting through the day that they could share? I know I need to see a professional and I will someday (hopefully) but I'm just scared.

I feel very similarly to you, I happen to miss work a lot unfortunately for it too. My biggest tip is on breaks, sing as loud as you want or aggressively as you want to your favorite jams. I know I get pretty nuts to Modest Mouse in my car lol. Another tip is maybe changing sleep schedules, I cant wake up for work, so now I sleep right after work. I stay up through the night so there isnt as much to do but its quiet and peaceful. Dont be too afraid of seeing a professional, I was afraid for a long time but as soon as I started making the effort in slowly felt better, not gone of course but I can at least breathe now. You got this!

Thanks for the advice I really do appreciate it. I will hopefully seek professional help soon if I can stop being such a big baby about it. Can I just say your username made me laugh because I always call myself nerdo as well. Well again thanks for the tips.

I'm glad I've helped. Super nerds are the best. And dontworry, when you get help its not like you're a lab rat. You talk and talk and enjoy your time with a medical professional who is carefully listening to you.

You are right on several counts. You can't just bottle it up and try to ignore it. It will surface like it has. You should talk to a psychologist and maybe get some medication - let your psychologist make that call. You are doing a good thing by getting on this site. Here you will find people who can truly understand. There are some good books to read. I was pointed to this book years ago and it had some really good information -Hope+Help for your Nerves, Claire-Weekes. You can find it on Amazon
